CHEVELLE: New Single Available For Streaming - July 2, 2009
"Jars", the new single from CHEVELLE, is available for streaming on the band's MySpace page. The song comes off the group's fifth studio album, titled "Sci-Fi Crimes", which is scheduled for release on September 8.

Although there's been rumors that this is the heaviest CHEVELLE album yet, drummer Sam Loeffler told The Pulse of Radio he has a different view. "I think that production-wise it's different in that we used a lot more vintage amplifiers and things like that," he said. "I don't know that it's really a heavier record than any of our others. I actually think it's probably the opposite. But it's certainly still driving, melodic, hard rock music."

In addition to "Jars", CHEVELLE has played "Letter From A Thief" and "Sleep Apnea" on some recent dates.

The new disc will follow up 2007's "Vena Sera".

The band kicked off a tour with STAIND on July 1 in Peoria.

Compared to previous singles, this is pretty weak, especially if you remember the awesomeness of Wonder What's Next.

This new one is completely genereic.

I am surprised, I did not expect much. Hell, I am going to get the rights to this song for an episode of the show I work on.

It's a not that progressive but it's still something new. Good music always sounds like old music right?

Singing voices improve until about age 35 or 40. Voices get deeper and warmer. Even without taking lessons, his voice could just be getting better because it's maturing.

I like the new single. It's what I expect from Chevelle-- I'll be buying the album.
