"Jars", the new single from
CHEVELLE, is available for streaming on the band's
MySpace page. The song comes off the group's fifth studio album, titled
"Sci-Fi Crimes", which is scheduled for release on September 8.
Although there's been rumors that this is the heaviest
CHEVELLE album yet, drummer
Sam Loeffler told
The Pulse of Radio he has a different view. "I think that production-wise it's different in that we used a lot more vintage amplifiers and things like that," he said. "I don't know that it's really a heavier record than any of our others. I actually think it's probably the opposite. But it's certainly still driving, melodic, hard rock music."
In addition to
"Jars",
CHEVELLE has played
"Letter From A Thief" and
"Sleep Apnea" on some recent dates.
The new disc will follow up 2007's
"Vena Sera".
The band kicked off a tour with
STAIND on July 1 in Peoria.
