PRIESTESS: New Album To Arrive This Fall - July 2, 2009
Montreal, Quebec, Canada foursome PRIESTESS has issued the following update:

"As you all know, [the second PRIESTESS album] is taking very long to come out. You have to know that it is not what we want; if thing would have moved as smoothly as we hoped with the transition from our former label, you would all have been listening to it for a few months already!! That being said, we are happy to drop you a little inside info; the album is being released (in some places) this fall FOR SURE! AND, once that happens, we will be touring the living shit out of it. In the meantime, come out the the shows and hear the new songs the way they're meant to be heard; LIVE!! We're working on the artwork and everything, so you'll be seeing all that stuff soon too."

PRIESTESS's second album was recorded in Los Angeles with producer Dave Schiffman (ANTI-FLAG, AVENGED SEVENFOLD, SYSTEM OF A DOWN). The follow-up to 2006's "Hello Master" was previously described by guitarist/vocalist Mikey Heppner as "the best shit we've ever done."

PRIESTESS spent 2008 on the road, converting new fans while opening for MASTODON and playing a number of summer festivals with IRON MAIDEN. The band's popularity continues to reach an even wider audience, thanks to the inclusion of its song "Lay Down" on the extremely popular video game Guitar Hero. The snarling blast of relentless energy and infectious riffs pushed the song onto the iTunes singles chart.

While they didn't beat out GWAR, they were 100x better than Cattle Mutilation who were boring as fuck.

COMMENT | Not Metal?

If you say they aren't metal, go see them live.

Also, the new stuff that hasn't been released is much more "Metal" than the songs on Hello Master.

Also, Hello Master was a great fucking album. Just because something is more "rock" than "metal" certainly does not make it "pop."

COMMENT | Pop?

Apparently next time anyone needs a person to categorize a band's sound one should NOT call on machindead since he obviously doesn't have a fucking clue what he is talking about.

Hey machinedead:

Go back to your Suicide Silence and Whitechapel records please and leave the real music to us adults.
