JUDAS PRIEST: Footage From Last Night's Milwaukee Concert Posted Online - July 3, 2009
Fan-filmed video footage of JUDAS PRIEST's July 2, 2009 performance at the Milwaukee Summerfest can be viewed below.

JUDAS PRIEST kicked off its "British Steel" 30th-anniversary tour Monday night (June 29) at the Murat Theatre in Indianapolis, Indiana.

JUDAS PRIEST has chosen 10 songs not previously released in live album form for "A Touch of Evil: Live", which is due out July 14, in the midst of the band's U.S. summer tour.

"A Touch of Evil" includes live renderings of longtime fan favorites such as "Painkiller", "Dissident Aggressor", "Riding on the Wind", "Between the Hammer & the Anvil" and "Eat Me Alive", as well as "Hellrider" from "Angel of Retribution", the group's 2004 reunion album with frontman Rob Halford, and two tracks — "Death" and "Prophecy" — from last year's rock opera "Nostradamus".

"I love those songs," Halford told Billboard.com. "All of those songs just crush. Because they've never been recorded live in this way, it's just something fresh to put out. And when you listen to it and think this band has been around for three decades, with a combined age of 250-something years...I mean, how cool is that? It's a very fierce record and just captures the band's attitude and feeling in a very strong, determined way."

Recorded by Martin Walker and Brian Thorene during JUDAS PRIEST's mammoth 2005 and 2008 world tours, "A Touch Of Evil: Live" marks the first PRIEST album that producer Tom Allom has worked on since 1988 (co-producing along with the band). It was such Allom-produced albums as the aforementioned "Unleashed In The East", as well as "British Steel" and "Screaming For Vengeance" (among others) that made PRIEST not only one of the premier metal acts, but one of the leading global rock acts.

"A Touch Of Evil: Live" track listing:

01. Judas Rising
02. Hellrider
03. Between The Hammer & The Anvil
04. Riding On The Wind
05. Death
06. Beyond The Realms Of Death
07. Dissident Aggressor
08. A Touch Of Evil
09. Eat Me Alive
10. Prophecy
11. Painkiller

Man, now I'm REALLY looking forward to the Sunday show in Wallingford.

They sound really tight and energetic in these clips. Nothing like some rarely-played songs to bring a band out of its comfort zone. Kick ass!

Can't wait for this Tuesday in Mansfield, MA ( unless I win Michael Jackson funeral tickets ; > ) ) to see this landmark heavy metal album played in its entirety. Priest, Priest, Priest !!!!

it kills me to watch them these days. Rob has virtually no stage presence or voice. For comparison all you need to do is check out any recent live Maiden video to see that you can be in your 50's and still move around the stage. And vocally all Halford does is speak the words for the most part these days. Most notably, he's blown out his upper register almost completely.

Flame me if you want, but these facts can't be denied!

I drove up to Milwaukee for the show last night. The whole British Steel album, The Ripper, Diamonds and Rust, Victim o Changes, Freewheel Burning and more..... awesome set and they sounded great! How great to see Priest, Maiden, Sabbath, Metallica, etc mixing up the sets and still kicking ass in 2009.

Scott Travis' drum sound and style add a deeper dimension to the old Priest tunes. And sure Rob doen't have the same shit he had as a younger man but he does pretty good for the milage he's put on.

snarky comment: and at least he sings all the words...

It's unfair to compare Priest to Maiden, because (1) the guys in Maiden are 6-7 years younger, and (2) Maiden have ALWAYS had a more energetic stage show due to the unmatched athleticism of Bruce Dickinson and Steve Harris.

That's no surprise.

Rob's upper register is pretty shredded, but he compensates for it pretty well and his mid-rage still has a nice amount of power left.

....has more stage presence than a million other frontmen combined. Even when he locks down in place. Running around the stage doesn't equate to presence. You either possess it or you don't. If you think Halford just speaks the words, then you haven't seen the man this tour.

I love Dickinson, but some of his stage antics I find amusing.
