CANNIBAL CORPSE: 'Evisceration Plague' Graphic Novel Available On 'Rockstar Energy Mayhem' Tour - July 6, 2009
Death metal icons CANNIBAL CORPSE are issuing a limited-edition 96-page comic book exclusively at the Hot Topic booth on this summer's Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival. Drawn entirely by Vince Locke, who illustrated the acclaimed graphic novel "A History of Violence" and each of the band's album covers, the "Evisceration Plague" comic graphically depicts a story for every song on the band's album of the same name — arranged in order, no less. As an added bonus, each copy comes with a copy of the album.

"Vince Locke has done an incredible job turning our lyrics into blood-soaked and vicious illustrations for the 'Evisceration Plague' comic book," states CANNIBAL CORPSE bassist Alex Webster. "He really has captured visually what we were trying convey lyrically. His artwork has brought our macabre songs to life in truly explicit fashion... Fans of graphic horror will not be disappointed."

CANNIBAL CORPSE will embark on the European Plague Tour in the fall. Direct support will come from DYING FETUS. On the mainland, the package will be completed by EVOCATION and OBSCURA, while TRIGGER THE BLOODSHED and ANNOTATIONS OF AN AUTOPSY will support the bands in the U.K.

"Evisceration Plague" sold 9,600 copies in the United States in its first week of release. This is more than 50 percent higher than the opening tally of the band's previous CD, "Kill" (2006), which landed at No. 170 after shifting more than 6,000 copies. In 1996, CANNIBAL CORPSE's "Vile" premiered at No. 151, with more than 6,100 copies sold.

Exactly.

People bash Corpse, and the majority of it is coming from people who don't know shit about the band. But they sell the most albums for death metal. (Which isn't a lot at all), but people think in that case, they must suck balls.

I'm pretty sure any band you name that you claim is better & along the same lines, they were influenced by Corpse. And if not, respect the fuck outta em.

So stop trying to make your internet cock bigger and shut the fuck up.

Corpse is legendary!!!!

Cannibal Corpse crushes other bands live in concert. Just total energy, great sound and skill and Corpsegrinder just has the best vocals hands down.

I want this comic book...destined to be a collector's item...

I'm not the biggest fan of the band, but would like to have this graphic novel. Good move on the band's part - including the album with this. Tough market these days - pandering to the raised-on-google generation...for the most part.
