METALLICA: French DVD Setlist Revealed - July 7, 2009
Tonight's (July 7) METALLICA concert in Nimes, France at Arènes de Nîmes was professionally filmed for a forthcoming DVD release. The disc will be made available on October 19 through French music stores and online shops only, as well as via the band's official web site, Metallica.com.

According to the MetOnTour.com web site, which is described as "your FREE virtual backstage pass to every METALLICA show," METALLICA's setlist for tonight's concert was as follows:

01. Blackened
02. Creeping Death
03. Fuel
04. Harvester Of Sorrow
05. Fade to Black
06. Broken, Beat And Scarred
07. Cyanide
08. Sad But True
09. One
10. All Nightmare Long
11. The Day That Never Comes
12. Master Of Puppets
13. Dyers Eve
14. Nothing Else Matters
15. Enter Sandman
- - - - - - - - - - - -
16. Stone Cold Crazy
17. Motorbreath
18. Seek and Destroy

WorMee will stream METALLICA's concert in Nimes from July 10 until July 13. You just need to register with the site to watch, and the stream is available to everyone around the world.

As previously reported, METALLICA's three concerts in Mexico City were also filmed for a separate DVD release. The band played Mexico City for the first time in a decade on June 4, June 6 and June 7, with the group keeping the shows on its schedule despite the recent outbreak of swine flu that originated in the area.

METALLICA has issued several DVDs in the past, including "Cliff 'Em All", "Cunning Stunts", "S&M With The San Francisco Symphony Orchestra" and "A Year And A Half".

The band, recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, continues to tour behind "Death Magnetic", which has sold 1.78 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. They'll play Europe throughout the summer before returning to North America in the fall.

METALLICA's video for the song "Broken, Beat And Scarred" can be viewed below. The performance clip was shot by METALLICA's longtime friend and collaborator, famed video director Wayne Isham, on December 13, 2008 at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California and December 12, 2008 at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California.

Bad but brave attempt.
I was hoping you would have put St Anger songs in there, but you didn't.

Ok, easy to criticize, my try:

Creeping Death
That Was Just Your Life
Bellz
Sanitarium
Broken Beat & Scarred
The Memory Remains

The Day that Never Comes
The Thing that Should not Be
King Nothing
Sad
One
Fade
Master
Dyers Eve (or 4 Hoursemen)
Enter Sandman

All Within My Hands
So What (right after a St Anger song, brilliant lol)
Motorbreath
Seek & Destroy

Decent IMHO

I think ur dvd choice would've been better. What i dont like when bands do is when they have other live dvds and the have alot of the same songs on all dvds...
i think cause all the other tallica dvds have, nothing else, sad but true and sandman, they should cut em out , so our metallica dvds can be truly diverse in set list.
So instead of sad but true, id have no remorse, instead of sandman, fight fire with fire, instead of seek and destroy now...metal milita, instead of that cover, either a sabbath or diamond head cover, or another old skool tallica classic, ride the lightning would do awesome!!!

Instead of fuel...amost anything, but trapped under ice would be sweet & lastly, they should play some more of the rare gems on justice like frayed ends and eye of the beholder!!!!

Owell, kl dvd, like someone else said, glad dyers eve made it in...
but overall too many repeated tracks from previous dvds :(

I can't say I care too much about the DVD since I will probably be unable to purchase it.

I might find it on a Torrent site down the road but I'm not going to spend more than the selling price of the material to buy something I'll watch once and not see much anymore, besides I get to see them live for myself in Buffalo :)

At almost every show on this tour, they opened with "That Was Just Your Life" and did "Ride The Lightning" and they film a show for the DVD and DON'T do those songs! WTF?!?!?!

They aren't going to please everyone are they? I'm pretty pleased they're putting so much new stuff on there - would've liked a bit more. One of the problem Metallica will always have is that they never had that many songs. Their other DVDs have suffered because they play the same old stuff, so it's an arse that they still have Nothing Else Matters, Enter Sandman, Sad But True and Master of Puppets on there, but then I suppose those are the ones that sell this to the less devoted. Meh...

Yeah id love them to close, justice style, i think tallica have a few more albums and live dvds in them and with those dvds what i hope they are more varied!

Also, i'd like to see all their instrumentals live on dvd to watch, from ktulu to suicide. I think to live is to die is the best though.

They should've put when they played puppets in its enitiry on dvd, it was recorded im sure... they've also recorded another show from the DM tour for a dvd right? So we should be getting two new tallica dvds, which rules, i hope the other one has fight fire, ride the lightning and trapped under ice!

Lastly, for the future, i'd love to hear justice from beginning to end.... i cannot understand ppl who say metallica died after puppets...justice is thee masterpiece!

This is for an official DVD release, not lets appease every critical bitch out there. The material is made up of the current touring setlist people with some slight tweaks to extend it out and make it interesting for those that might not have attended a show where lets say Dyer's Eve was played. You dipshits that post what you think the setlist should be/shouldn't be can go start your own Metallica cover band and play that shit that you have to hear. No one but you cares about the ramblings of your inner dialog on the setlist. The band that everyone loves to hate, but still sells out every show and goes multi platinum with every release

If this DVD is only available from their website outside of France, I suppose you have to be a member, ie., pay for a membership. What a LOAD of crap. Oh well, I doubt I would buy it anyway. I like the old fast songs the way they were, not with every other note taken out and Jaymz yodeling the lyrics.
