Former MISFITS Guitarist Issues New EP, Pays Tribute To LEMMY - July 8, 2009
Former MISFITS guitarist Bobby Steele has returned with "I Made A Monster", the new EP from his long-running band THE UNDEAD. The group's first domestic release in nine years, "I Made A Monster" includes three songs, including a cover of "I Go Ape" by THE ROCKIN' VICERS, the band best known for introducing MOTÖRHEAD's infamous Lemmy Kilmister to the world. All three of the EP's tracks feature Steele on vocals, guitar and bass with help from drummer and long-time collaborator Joel Gausten (PIGFACE, ELECTRIC FRANKENSTEIN).

The seven-inch EP is available in black, blue, red, yellow, white, "swamp green" and special limited-edition, glow-in-the-dark vinyl. All copies are packaged in a special Mad magazine-style fold-in cover. The back cover features a faded, ghost-like photo of THE UNDEAD's original lineup taken in 1981 — an homage to original UNDEAD drummer Patrick Blanck, who died in 2001.

"In the age of downloading, many acts are exploring new ways to offer listeners something truly special in addition to the music offered on a release," explains Gausten. "With that said, what's cooler than a glow-in-the-dark record with a fold-in cover? Just thinking 'outside the box' isn't cutting it anymore — we all need to take that box, paint it dayglo, douse it in gasoline and set the damn thing on fire!"

"I Made A Monster" is currently available through Gausten Books.

dated Bobby Steele in the early 90s, back in Jersey

also, Rockin' Vickers were a cool ,but sorta generic, beat group with Lemmy on guitar. If you're into mid-60s British or Euro beat music, check 'em out.

The Glow in the Dark one is AWESOME!

I'm glad to see records making a come-back now that downloading has absolutely KILLED the music industry.

Now, not only can musicians not make a living, but ONLY the bullshit big wig, corporate fucks that promote crap like The Johnas Brothers can afford to put music out there.

Way to GO generation "Why?"!

But I digress.

You obviously don't know shit about the misfits... Bobby is kind to fans, still creative and still involved in the scene, still putting out music (original and covers), uses his influence to support causes and raise money for their benefit (www.wm3.org), and writes very interesting and entertaining entries in his myspace blog. The only other misfit that does any of that is michale graves....and I am sure the other misfits say fuck bobby and fuck graves and all that shit, but the truth is they are only saying that because that is all they can muster up to say or to do...
