W.A.S.P.: Munich Footage Available - July 9, 2009
Video footage of W.A.S.P.'s July 8, 2009 concert in Munich, Germany can be viewed below (courtesy of "eblinternational").

W.A.S.P. last year completed the European and North American legs of "The Crimson Idol Tour", which kicked off on October 26, 2007 in Thessaloniki, Greece. The band performed the 1992 album in its entirety while never-before-seen video footage was being shown throughout the show. After a short break the group returned for another a 30-minute set of W.A.S.P. classics.

W.A.S.P.'s latest album, "Dominator", was released in digipack and LP format on October 1, 2007 via Demolition Records. The digipack features a special 3D cover.

So Blackie is letting people take video of his shows now. What happend to the jack ass that wouldn't let anyone even hold a camera up at his show without a roadie trying to bust that person's head in. You lost all my respect after that crap. Hang it up! You are not all that.

It looks like he's finally gotten rid of that hideous mic stand he used to "ride around on". His voice sounds strong. The dude deserves more respect than he gets here on Blabbermouth. Is that mellow number (3rd down) off Dominator? It sounds solid.

W.A.S.P. always put a good show, agree with brovanm, Blackie deserves more respect here.
A great composer, lyricist and knows how to make a show.
How many 80's bands make albums like W.A.S.P. every couple of years?
Like it or not Blackie is one of the great musicians from the 80's.
Long Live the king of Mercy!!

Blackie had a hard time setting up the mic stand in certain venues and I think he even cancelled shows that couldn't accommodate his mic stand. He probably realized it's not worth the trouble.

I skipped straight to the song that wasn't a classic (3rd video) and loved it. Great feel to it. A true W.A.S.P. song. Dominator should be worth the purchase.

He got famous in the 80's but his music is a cross between classic rock and metal to me. It's not 80's (RATT, POISON, DEF LEPPARD), etc.

It's more original than that and there's a definite attitude that comes across in the music that's unique, honest, dark and best of all "Blackie"!

I hope they finally get the respect they deserve soon. Dominator is easily one of the best WASP cds and in the top 10 releases of that year (07)
For Blackie to be his age and kicking that much ass onstage and vocally live AND in studio........ that is real metal, man.

He deserves a helluva lot more respect than he gets. Here especially. Wasp is one of my top 3-5 bands of all time. Nobody....I mean NOBODY writes music in the same vein as Blackie Lawless. Granted....there is the typical 80's throw away tune...but the classic songs greatly out weight these. Blackie's in a league all his own and deserves more respect than he'll ever get.

Blackie has been battleing it out in small venues since the hayday yet still delivers true soulful rock n roll and is worthy of way more respect and recognition than he gets. I've been on board since the first album and i'm thankfull that he's never bowed out. W.A.S.P. has always been one of those bands that sound like no other. Most of that is due to Blackie's voice which sounds fucking amazing in these vid clips. Some say cheesey 80's hair band, i say bullshit. One of the best frontmen and some of the best songs in the history of heavy music. Long live W.A.S.P.

Saw the guys on the CI tour and Blackie was amazing. The rate he puts out albums this late in his career is nothing short of outstanding. Dominator was the best he's done in a while, a classic WASP record with great tunes throughout.

These clips are amazing!!! He is back yet again in great form!

4 W.A.S.P. shows under my belt. 2 shows in 2004's The Neon God tour (both albums), 1 show in late 2006 prior to the latest album "Dominator" and the almighty show of The Crimson Idol last year! W.A.S.P. always plays very fucking loud with full force energy, they never fail. Blackie's voice alters from show to show (he was in a serious flu on the first 2004 show but he pulled it off, thanking us fans for our hospitality!), but his voice was in absolute brilliance on June 31st 2008 when he performed his magnum opus in Tampere, the clearest and highest-soaring voice of all 4 shows, it was beautiful! Also the band kicked serious ass back then, especially the super-faithful solo of "The Idol" made me insane!

3 things:

1, the skull&ribs&spine mic stand is the most hideous, vicious and most heavy fucking metal mic stand I've ever seen in my life!!! Blackie took command of the venue by climbing atop of it and swung around like crazy! Definitely the ultimate mic stand in the history of rock. I remember reading from somewhere that Blackie wished that he should have had that kind of mic stand back in the 80's already...

2, W.A.S.P. is still going strong and wild, it's one of the toughest and most brutish bands that have unfortunately suffered a decline in general popularity...but W.A.S.P. definitely survived beyond the 80's glam rock mania, not only by making contemporary-sounding & styled albums with a unique & more dark approach when they were demanded everywhere, but also by making more mature and artistically varied & interesting albums in the 90's and this decade. Conceptual albums like The Crimson Idol & The Neon God I&II, special albums like Kill Fuck Die & Helldorado, dark & powerful albums like Dying For The World & Unholy Terror...

3, the cameras were forbidden at The Crimson Idol show because of the video screen being an integral part of the show. I was very fucking glad there were no stupid cell phone & mini cameras flashing all the time, it would have ruined the near-magical atmosphere of the show.

21st of October W.A.S.P. hits Tampere Tullikamari again, I will be there!!!

P.S. This is the 20th anniversary of the magnificent career-crowning album "The Headless Children"...maybe something special is coming our way again...

P.P.S. When W.A.S.P. is gone some day in the future where these non-rock bands reign the scene, people will miss W.A.S.P. crying their eyes out...

And for the record:

I want more cheesy & tongue-in-cheek 80's stuff to re-emerge again!!! More enormous hair, more shining spandex suits, more leopard outfits, more tasseled leather jackets & boots, more make-up overkill especially for the ladies & more silk & satin & lace for their beauty, more fucking big sunglasses for everyone, more American cars from the 80's, more huge car phones, bigger album packages, more huge stage shows...It's ROCK AND ROLL MAJESTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Blackie needs to hang up the conceptual rockstar/fallen angel concept....three albums of that plus the whole " I love my country but fear my government" line is also tired. Last solid release was dying for the world and he should take wasp back to that non conceptual territory and stay there. Crimson Idol is awesome but the straight forward WASP tracks kick ass

I have been and always will be a W.A.S.P. fan. In these clips is is obvious that Blackie has lost none of his ability or stage presence. He is an incredible singer and songwriter and never gets nearly the credit he deserves. His music actually makes you THINK . What could possible be wrong about that???
I will support him and his music till the day I die.
