STEVEN ADLER's Guest Appearance On SLASH's Solo Album To Be Recorded Next Week - July 9, 2009
According to a posting on Slash's Twitter account, the guitarist's former GUNS N' ROSES bandmate Steven Adler will play on Slash's forthcoming solo album. Adler is scheduled to lay down his drum track sometime next week.

Slash has been recording his solo CD with former NINE INCH NAILS drummer Josh Freese and ex-JANE'S ADDICTION bassist Chris Chaney. Confirmed guest singers so far include Ozzy Osbourne and AVENGED SEVENFOLD's M. Shadows. Freese told MusicRadar.com that Iggy Pop, Fergie (a.k.a. Stacy Ann Ferguson) of the BLACK EYED PEAS and Chris Cornell (SOUNDGARDEN, AUDIOSLAVE) will also appear on the LP. Working songtitles include "We're All Gonna Die", "These Last Words", "Crucify The Dead" and "Beautiful, Dangerous".

In other news, Slash has revealed via Twitter that he "plays guitar on the theme song for [the new movie] 'Bruno'." He added that "there's a cameo of me, Snoop Dog, Sting, Chris Martin and Bono at the end" of the film.

Slash left GUNS N' ROSES in the mid-'90s, forming SLASH'S SNAKEPIT before later assembling VELVET REVOLVER with several other ex-members of GUNS N' ROSES and STONE TEMPLE PILOTS singer Scott Weiland.

VELVET REVOLVER is currently searching for a replacement for Weiland, who was dismissed in April 2008.

Good luck Steven. I've been waiting for this for about 19 years. Kick Josh Freese's ass.

Hey DungFace - fuck off ya' bandwagon riding stooge.

............

Pretty cool news, man - obviously Adler has got his shit together - leastwise enough so that this 'guest appearance' is set to become a reality. Right on. Hey, who knows - perhaps Slash will be instrumental in Adler working out and releasing/performing some original material.

i saw videos on this very website of adler's appetite and he was horrible. he would never cut it in a real pro band on Slash or Axl's level again. If you don't realize that, you must be blind.

i'd love to be wrong, so don't take me the wrong way. i think his condition is tragic.

VR is practically Sorum's band. He was the driving force behind getting the whole thing together.

That being said, what I've been hoping all along, after I hear that Adler was going to be on a track, and then hearing that Stradlin was also going to do a track, and knowing that McKagan is never to far away from any of those guys is that they all play on a track together. That, at least to me, would be the most bitchin' news I've heard in a long time...well, since I was 16 and GNR cancelled their show I wasn't able to (ever)see them. Either way, it should be rad...total support!!!

"i saw videos on this very website..."

Do I have to add anything else? This is the way blabber-retards like Mung work here. They see a cell phone video or hear a 128 kbps mp3 snippet of a song and think they have enough info to release their crappy comment on it. Fuck off, poser !!!

Steven Adler is the gRoOvIeSt drummer !!!

i guess Slash has nothing to lose after his previous solo work. Might as well throw the Special Olympics worst drummer on it.

BASAJUAN

"Steven Adler is the gRoOvIeSt drummer !!!"

HAHA Is there anything I can say that can sum up your credibility more than this?

I will say this, if you know a fucking thing about drumming, you can tell when somebody is off time while watching an official rehearsal video recorded BY the band. Jesus Christ, if 128 bit sound is too rough for you to discern tempo and rhythm you really have no business talking about music ever again.

"grooviest drummer" is usually a term given to drummer that has no technical abilities but people still like them, so why not call them "groovy", even if they're the furthest thing from it.

In Adlers case, he's lucky there are computer programs and mixing engineers in place to "fix" it.

So Slash is into charity now. How sweet.
Anyway, I like Adler a lot more than Sorum.
