RUSH Drummer Featured On New VERTICAL HORIZON Album - July 10, 2009
According to a posting on the RUSH fan site RushIsABand.com, RUSH drummer Neil Peart is featured on the new album from VERTICAL HORIZON entitled "Burning The Days". Peart contributed the lyrics to the song "Even Now" and played drums on three tracks — "Save Me From Myself", "Even Now" and "Welcome To The Bottom".

"Save Me From Myself" is the first single from the album and can be heard on the band's MySpace page.

VERTICAL HORIZON's first CD in nearly four years, "Burning The Days" will be released on August 25.

if any of you have read Pearts books he is good friends with one of the members of the band. I think it will be interesting to see if VH asked him to be Peart or if he took a bit more straight forward approach. I think you'd let him do whatever he wants for fuck sake

Peart is the best drummer I ever saw - I never got to see John Bonham though.

I read that he is good buddies with their singer, Matt. Good for him to lend a hand on their album. They have produced some good pop/rock songs over the years, and all the guys in the band are cool as hell. Good to see them coming back!

Their lead singer can write a heck of a hook. And, Vertical's drummer is a cool dude. Hung out with 'im once.

Plus, anything that N. Peart does is righteous.
