FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH: New Single Available For Streaming - July 10, 2009
Los Angeles metallers FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH are streaming their new single, "Hard To See", at RevolverMag.com. The song comes off the band's sophomore album, "War Is The Answer", which is scheduled for release on October 6 via Prospect Park Records. The CD was produced by the band and Kevin Churko (OZZY OSBOURNE, IN THIS MOMENT), and was mixed by Randy Staub (METALLICA, MÖTLEY CRÜE, NICKELBACK). According to a press release, "the record evolves the band's already mature sound, ranging from the undeniable melodies in 'Hard to See' to the brutally nihilistic 'Burn It Down' [available for streaming below] — destined to please fans both new and old."

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH guitarist Zoltan Bathory told RevolverMag.com about the "Hard To See" song, "It's about seemingly irresolvable differences. It's valid in just about any setting: politics, religion, relationships… Everything is 'only an opinion' based on limited information, yet people sometimes get attached to their point of views to the extreme…in fact, to the point they would launch wars over them."

"Hard To See" will impact rock radio on July 13.

Regarding the upcoming CD, Bathory stated, "In terms of the overall style, I would say that we've continued the journey we started on the first album, so there's a healthy balance of melody and aggression, and as always we concentrated on writing strong metal songs in the traditional sense. There's some epic moments on the record, and there's some straight-up home-wreckers, too. All I can say is, those who liked our first album are going to LOVE this one!"

Bathory told The Pulse of Radio that he wasn't worried about coming up with material for the band's second studio effort. "We have a lot to say," he said. "I tell you what, we're not going to be hurting for material for a long time probably. We have like three, four albums worth of stuff. So it's not gonna be an issue. It's pretty much just the mechanical part of like, you know, like properly recording the songs. You have to go to a good studio, you know what I mean, you have to spend some time. But all the material, yeah, we have a lot of stuff."

The band's next album will follow up its 2007 debut, "The Way Of The Fist", which has sold around 336,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

The CD produced three singles, including "Stranger Than Fiction" and "Never Enough".

"Burn It Down", a brand new song from FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, can be streamed using the widget below (courtesy of MetalInsider.net).

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH was recently forced to cancel a series of June dates in Europe due a combination of events; these involve both personal matters plus the necessity to finish mixing the tracks for "War Is The Answer".

I really liked some of the songs on 5FDP's first album, but the compressed-to-death sound of this song (seriously, it never changes volume) REALLY makes it hard to enjoy!

Then again, I guess that's what you get when you go with Nickelback's mixing engineer. :-\ Maybe it'll sound better live?

I hope they do kick ass, Im seeing them in less than a month.

Honestly I don't think this song is any where near as good as Ashes or the Bleeding, but at least his vocal structures are becoming less predictable... Scream in verses, sing in the chorus gets repetitive.
The song Bulletproof on Spinefarm's myspace is better.

I saw these fuckers live and they changed almost every lyric to their songs. It's like the dude has OCD and changes his lyrics. It sucked. And Zoltan Bathory? Jesus fucking christ...

I've heard three songs off the album, kick ass. So far I listen to the old stuff the most though, cant wait for the new album. As for live, I enjoyed their show greatly, they know exactly how to do it.
