HERMAN RAREBELL Performs 'Rock You Like A Hurricane' At ROCKLAHOMA; Video Available - July 14, 2009
Fan-filmed video footage of HERMAN ZE GERMAN — the new band led by former SCORPIONS drummer Herman Rarebell — performing the SCORPIONS classic "Rock You Like A Hurricane" on July 10, 2009 at the Rocklahoma festival in Pryor, Oklahoma can be viewed below (courtesy of "JohnEbrownTX").

HERMAN ZE GERMAN has scheduled the following dates:

July 17 - Mississippi Mud House - Cape Girardeau, MO
July 18 - Heartbreakers - St. Louis, MO

The group's current lineup is as follows:

Herman Rarebell (SCORPIONS) - Drums
Duke Jackson (STRIKEFORCE) - Guitar
Timexx Nasty (DRIVIN' RAIN, BEGGARS JURY) - Vocals
Joe Council (STRIKEFORCE, PUSH) – Bass

HERMAN ZE GERMAN' setlist includes the following SCORPIONS classics, among others:

* "Rock you like a Hurricane"
* "Blackout"
* "Another Piece of Meat"
* "He's a Woman, She's a Man"
* "Passion Rules The Game"
* "Make It Real"
* "Loving You Sunday Morning"

SCORPIONS headlined the Scorpions Festival 2009 on July 6 Karaiskaki stadium in Athens, Greece. This year's edition of the event included a so-called SCORPIONS "reunion," featuring appearances by various former members of the band, including Uli Jon Roth, Michael Schenker and Rarebell.

To be fair, it's a pretty cool cover, and Timexx Nasty has a great voice, in spite of his really backwards sounding Eastern Bloc hair metal singer name. I dig cover bands, and hey, this one has the former drummer of Scorpions! They're just having fun. No one's dignity is being shattered.

Herman was a very nice guy and his band did a great set at Rocklahoma. They only did 4 Scorpions songs. Blackout, Another Piece of Meat, He's a Woman Shes A Man, and Rock You Like a Hurricane. The rest of the set was solo songs and new stuff. I was very impressed that they didn't just do a Adler's Appetite style set. At least Herman did a lot of solo songs. And he wrote those Scorpion songs so why in the hell shouldn't he play them.

As for Timexx Nasty he has been rocking out in the midwest since 1987. The guy has paid his dues and I'm very proud to see him up there with HZG. I was also impressed with guitarist Duke Jackson. He and Strikeforce have been long time St. Louis players for years now.

Get off Herman's back people. If the guy wants to get out and play some music and meet some fans, leave him alone. He was very nice, and signed for fans and even walked around Rocklahoma and checked out lots of other bands. How many other rock stars did you see walking around in the crowd?

He's not in the Scorpions because he chose not to be. Really he was there for years, and so what if he wants to do other things.

And any way, go watch MSG they do UFO songs! Go watch Ace Frehley or Paul Stanely solo shows, they do KISS songs! Go watch DIO he still does Rainbow AND Black Sabbath. Ozzy still sings Black Sabbath songs. Sebastian Bach still plays Skid Row songs. Whitesnake still plays Deep Purple songs. And why shouldn't they? And really, wouldn't you be kind of mad if they didn't?

Leave Herman alone. He's having a good time and meeting his friends. He is only a musician you know, and he never said he came to save the world.

Rock on Herman you are still one bad ass German!

Klaus Meine is (for me) the best vocalist ever and nobody can replace him!

more uninspired drumming from ze german. I am a massive scorps fan but to me, ze german was always the weak link. he did write good lyrics, but I think the scorps are much better off with james kottakk on the skins.
