KORN Singer Signs Solo Deal With WARNER - July 15, 2009
The Pulse of Radio reports: Although KORN itself has not announced a new recording contract, singer Jonathan Davis has apparently signed a solo deal with the Warner Music Group. Davis makes a guest appearance on the new album from ex-FAITH NO MORE frontman Chuck Mosley, and he's listed as appearing "courtesy of Warner Bros. Records." A management spokesperson confirmed the deal to HardDrive Radio.

Davis has been working on his debut solo album for months, with plans to release it later this year or early in 2010. He told The Pulse of Radio that he has high hopes for his first solo effort. "I want the record to be the most amazing record I could possibly put out. I want all songs to be amazing and different. I want it to be really a very artistic, crazy album that no one's ever heard before. 'Cause it's very world music-y and dark, heavy, PETER GABRIEL-esque type music and I want all the songs to be different, and nothing like KORN."

The Mosley song that Davis cameos on, called "The Enabler", also features ROB ZOMBIE guitarist John 5. The track is taken from Mosley's first solo album, titled "Will Rap Over Hard Rock For Food", due out on August 11.

KORN has been working on its ninth studio album recently, with plans to issue the CD sometime early next year. The band is without a record deal since finishing out its two-album contract with EMI Music in 2007.

The group began streaming a video teaser for its upcoming album at MySpace, showing Davis at work in the studio on new songs.

KORN will begin a string of U.S. dates on July 18 in Milwaukee.

I love how much blabbermouth.net loves to bash the good bands..but praise shit bands like GWAR??

I see more negative posts on here which means youre not off listening to your shit you call metal??

Mainstream mainstream mainstream mainstream..thats all i ever hear on the good bands....its the fans that make a band mainstream no the band itself..its called business..not growling lyrics that arent even there.wearing makeup and dressing like a faget..get a clue..metal is dead only because you worthless fucks make it dead.

I like this version and will take into account his solo album and anything Korn edits. I will never understand the extreme hate towards this band in particular. They are the ONLY ones I love from what is called nu-metal or whatever the heck you may call it, the rest of those bands I don´t care at all. I saw them live one month ago and they SLAYED, they sounded perfect and kept the show always fresh by changing parts of songs and incorporating parts of classics such as `We will rock you´ and `One´. Of course my opinion, coming from a fan from the 80´s that has grown with the classic bands at that time and loves from hard rock to the most extreme music.

im sick of people labelling KoRn as nu-metal..theyre not!!!! theres no such thing as nu-metal, it was a label the music press put on certain bands and unfortunately, KoRn were labelled just that..its a musical term that irritates the hell out of bands, KoRn are NOT nu-metal, as theres no such thing..

i also agree with juanneman's point, they do slaughter bands on the live front..i dont understand the hatred towards KoRn either..they were a breathe of fresh air when they started..and are still that

Deftones' cover of this is much much better. Don't like this one at all.
Jon's vocals just dont do it for me nowadays.

It is not because bands are mainstream. Pantera is mainstream, yet very good. Korn is mainstream, yet very, very bad.

Gwar is more mainstream than you might admit, but they are a novelty.

I like the first few Korn albums, but please, please don't compare yourself to a brilliant artist like Peter Gabriel.

Just don't. I'm embarrassed just reading it.

Saw this jerkoff live last year at ozzfest in texas. He performed his miserable solo shit from a giant chair. After one of his songs he tried hyping himself up by yelling "YEA IM SWEATIN MY BALLS OFF FOR YOU GUYS". Somebody in the front row screamed loud enough for the mic to pick up "FUCK YOU". JD made a face like someone kicked his dog.
