ARMORED SAINT: Demo Version Of New Song Available For Free Download - July 21, 2009
Legendary California metallers ARMORED SAINT have released a FREE demo version of a new song titled "Loose Cannon". This demo (performed with a drum program) gives you all a glimpse into the band's writing process and is also a nice taste of what's to come on the group's forthcoming full-length studio release.

The demo for "Loose Cannon" is available for download as a ZIP file at this location.

For those of you who will be attending the Rock Gone Wild festival at the Diamond Jo Casino in Northwood, Iowa on August 23, the SAINT will be performing this new song in the band's set.

ARMORED SAINT has completed writing material for a new album and will begin recording in early fall for a spring 2010 release on Metal Blade Records.

Other songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Chilled", "La Raza" and "Black Feet".

To celebrate ARMORED SAINT's recent first-ever tour of Australia, Riot! Entertainment, in conjunction with Metal Blade Records, produced an exclusive tour best-of compilation to combat the lack of ARMORED SAINT product on the market. This killer compilation covers the band's entire career and features such classic tracks as "March of the Saint", "Last Train Home", "Symbol of Salvation", "Hanging Judge". etc.

"2009 Australian Tour Compilation" track listing:

01. March Of The Saint (2001 version)
02. Reign of Fire
03. Last Train Home
04. Tribal Dance
05. Symbol Of Salvation
06. Hanging Judge
07. The Pillar
08. After Me, The Flood
09. Nervous Man (live)
10. Chemical Euphoria (live)
11. Lone Before I Die (live)
12. Can U Deliver (live)
13. Madhouse (live)

The CD is now available to international buyers by clicking here. For wholesale enquiries, contact John Howarth at john@riotact.com.au.

The band's current lineup is the same as the one on 2000's "Revelation" and 1992's "Symbol of Salvation" LPs:

John Bush (vocals)
Jeff Duncan (guitar)
Phil Sandoval (guitar)
Joey Vera (bass)
Gonzo (drums)

Vocalist John Bush was forced to sit out the final concert on ARMORED SAINT's Australian tour with DEATH ANGEL (on Sunday, March 15 at The Capitol in Perth) after being taken ill. The rest of the band went ahead and played the show, with bassist Joey Vera and guitarist Phil Sandoval sharing vocal duties.

For Armored Saint to be releasing a demo song of their upcoming album due next year on the same day as the Anthrax drama is supposed to be revealed later today. John is probably laughing his ass off today.

Anthrax is in deep shit right now! As much as I enjoyed the reunion in 2005 I thought what they did to you really sucked!I feel karma is hitting them hard right now!Dan sucked!I'm glad he bailed on them!I doubt now they will continue.I bet Belladonna is lovin'this!F**k them.Stay where your wanted and respected.I know Charlie and Scott are freaking out right now.

Belladonna is to cool to be gloating right now. I've seen an interview with him some time ago, and the reporter tried to provoke him to bash Scott. And he didn'. That makes Belladonna cool.
I feel sorry about the situation with Anthrax, they've just got the things going. Hope they find somebody soon. It will not be an easy task.
Even though, I wouldn't come back to Anthrax if I was Joey or John.

SaintThrax MMX....it sounds and feels right. Love both bands with the singer Metallica was meant to have. "Stream of consciousness flows into a river of blood.....what doesn't die!"

Their EP was my first metal album, so I will ALWAYS love and respect them. But in my opinion, this song seems to lack something. Instead of the usual two or three distinctive riffs, there are a bunch of lead harmonies driving the song, which doesn't do anything for me. Nothing about the vocals on this one draws me in either, even though John is still one of my all-time favorites. Where are the the trademark Saint hooks??? I'll buy the new album no matter what, just to support them. However, I hope the rest of it is better than this.

But wait on... How will the Anthrax situation affect Armored Saint? I know John has only signed on for one show but one thing could lead to another... If they get the 'vibe' then it might be on again. Which is great for Anthrax, because Bush is the best front man they've ever had, not so good for Armored Saint.

Either way, if Bush goes back to Anthrax full time it will be untold aeons before we hear new albums from either band, coz 'Thrax will need to re-record Worship Music which will take ages and Saint will not finish whatever they're working on and the project will be shelved.

samurai22, You took the words out of my mouth, I like the song, and I'm glad John is doing a show with Anthrax, but how bad would that suck if the A. Saint disc didn't get done by 2010? I know I'd be let down, especially after they shared this, yeah it's a bit close to some of the older stuff, but it's only a demo version, and it sounds killer to me.

I'm excited. Really excited. I hope it's even more consistent than Symbol of Salvation!
