DEMI LOVATO Name-Drops JOB FOR A COWBOY, ABIGAIL WILLIAMS On 'Jimmy Fallon' - July 26, 2009
American actress and singer-songwriter Demi Lovato name-dropped underground metal bands JOB FOR A COWBOY, ABIGAIL WILLIAMS and MAYLENE AND THE SONS OF DISASTER during her interview on NBC-TV's "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" this past Thursday night (July 23). Watch video footage of her appearance below. (Note: The above-mentioned segment can be seen beginning around the three-minute, 15-second mark.)

Lovato, 16, is best known for her role as Mitchie Torres in the television movie "Camp Rock" and Sonny Monroe in "Sonny With A Chance". In addition to acting, she performs as a solo music artist and issued her debut album, "Don't Forget", on September 23, 2008. The CD debuted at #2 on The Billboard 200 chart, selling over 89,000 copies in its first week of release. A follow-up effort, "Here We Go Again", came out on July 21, 2009.

I'd have been more impressed if she'd name dropped Carcass, Obituary or Entombed...

...I don't exactly like her taste in music, so I guess I'd rather drop the F-bomb than name drop. But it's cool that she does like heavier music than Miley. And Fallon sez he wants to know the names so he can book the guests in the future. That's cool. Better than watching Letterman hosting an old folk singer like Judy Collins.

It should've read 'I'd rather that she use the F-bomb than name drop'.

Sorry. It won't happen again.

She is an accurate representation of Job For A Cowboy fans. 16 years old and totally clueless.

Lovato is the latest in the string of tween-pop stars churned out by Disney (Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, et al). I'm only a passing fan of JFAC, AW and M&TSoD, but I'm glad that she actually likes something other than the bland pop her handlers foist off on her.

It kinda gives me hope that the next generation won't suck.

I think blabbermouth wants to be a general music news site rather than just a metal news site. Is this really metal news? If so, where is all the name drops from hundreds of other bands people mention in interviews every day? Either make the change or stick to what this site is supposed to be fore, noone gives a fuck about some pop singer's taste in music, at least not any self respecting metalhead.

but their last 2 cds have impressed me and i hear their live shows are sick. It's also nice to hear that Demi likes those kinda bands too including abigail williams. She's gorgeous, I'd like to hear her saying bands like Mastodon, Down, and DAATH.

she's only 16?, I haven't been paying attention to the media a whole lot but even though I'm 19, that still feels weird, what's with teens looking a lot older than they are?
