MACHINE HEAD Added To METALLICA Shows In December - July 27, 2009
MACHINE HEAD has been added to the following METALLICA shows in December:

Dec. 05 - Las Vegas, NV - Mandalay Bay
Dec. 07 - Boise, ID - Idaho Center
Dec. 08 - Sacramento, CA - ARCO Arena
Dec. 10 - Anaheim, CA - Honda Center
Dec. 12 - San Jose, CA - HP Pavilion

Also scheduled to appear is VOLBEAT.

MACHINE HEAD is continuing to tour in support of its Grammy-nominated album "The Blackening", which was re-released as a "special edition" last October via Roadrunner Records.

Hailed unanimously as the best metal album of 2007 by journalists, metal radio stations and fans alike, "The Blackening" earned a Grammy nomination for the fan-favorite track "Aesthetics of Hate".

"The Blackening Special Edition" is two-disc CD/DVD set that features an assortment of extras, including rare bonus tracks such as covers of IRON MAIDEN's "Hallowed Be Thy Name", over an hour of live performance footage from With Full Force, Download and Rock in Rio festivals, three uncensored music videos for "Aesthetics of Hate", "Now I Lay Thee Down" and "Halo", a "making-of" featurette on each video, "The Making of The Blackening" and expanded artwork. There's also what many hardcore fans have been rabidly waiting for: four never-before-seen performances of MACHINE HEAD celebrating the 10th anniversary of their debut album, "Burn My Eyes", captured in Philadelphia in 2004.

I wish I was attending a december show.. I'm attending the first 3 shows on this leg (Nash, Cincy, Indy), and would much rather see Machine Head/Volbeat over Lamb of God/Gojira.. No offense to LoG/Gojira, both are still good bands, just would be my preference to see the other half of the leg's openers..

Why do they keep bringing the same old bands year after year? Mastodon, Machine Head, Lamb of God, Trivium, etc. Slayer do the exact same thing..

How about fucking EXODUS? Or ANNIHILATOR, DEATH ANGEL, or some other REAL old school thrash metal shit like that?

Got tix when I heard Volbeat was going to open...and now Machine Head? Quite possibly one of the best lineups in recent memory.

If you are going, show up for Volbeat. Best new band in the last few years.

YourMomsBestFriend- I do agree they've been tapping the same bands over and over again, although, I don't think Mastodon have done the US with them yet, which I was hoping for.

But, neither them nor slayer are ever going to take other old bands out. They need to appear "relevant" and not part of an oldtimers' circuit.

guys dont be complaining it could be worse you could have to watch avenged sevenfold like we have to, you guys always get quality support bands for metallica gigs in the states, this years one in dublin was looking good because lamb of god mastadon and the sword along with alice in chains and avenged sevenfold were down to play, unfortunately LOG and the sword have both pulled out and as a replacement we get some shit band called glyder, who the fuck are glyder, i know mastadon and AIC will still be playing but fuck it compared to what we were promised its turned really shit now probably wont bother going now to be honest
