MACHINA Putting Finishing Touches On Debut Album 'Masterpiece' - July 28, 2009
MACHINA, the Little Rock, Arkansas-based band featuring former EVANESCENCE and current WE ARE THE FALLEN members John LeCompt and Rocky Gray, recently entered the studio with producer Toby Wright (METALLICA, SLAYER, ALICE IN CHAINS, SOULFLY, FEAR FACTORY) to begin mixing its debut album, "To Live And Die In The Garden Of Eden", for a tentative late 2009/early 2010 release via an as-yet-undetermined record label.

Commented LeCompt: "Sitting in the studio with Toby Wright putting the finishing touches on this masterpiece.

"It's been a long hard road but ultimately will have been worth it.

"All of the ups and downs we've been through making this record are imprinted on it and make it very personal to us, and make it a truly realized piece of art.

"In spite of label backing and limited capital, we have managed to not cut any corners and have every detail covered.

"Five of the songs have string arrangements in accompaniment to the balls-deep rock and roll on this album. It is raw, fresh, reminiscent and beautiful all at the same time. This is not just a record, it has a soul.

"Mastering will be complete sometime this coming month and 'To Live And Die In The Garden Of Eden' will be shopped to labels. Our management will take it and run with it to build a plan for the best opportunity for MACHINA.

"I know it has been a while, but trust me when I say it will have been worth the wait."

In early 2008, MACHINA collaborated with Mick Mars of MÖTLEY CRÜE on a new song entitled "Save You". The sessions took place between February 8 and February 10, 2008 (Grammy weekend) in Los Angeles at Mick Mars' personal studio. The track will feature guitar work by Mars and LeCompt, vocals by Phil Taylor, drums by Rocky Gray and bass by Thad Ables. Footage of the sessions can be seen below.

MACHINA previously released a self-titled, six-song EP, which has received play on XM Satellite Radio and rock stations nationwide by virtue of the buzz the band has generated.

LeCompt formed MACHINA with former FUTURE LEADERS OF THE WORLD vocalist Phil Taylor, and the two are the group's songwriters as well. The lineup also includes bassist Thad Ables and drummer Rocky Gray, LeCompt's fellow EVANESCENCE alumnus. Longtime friends, John and Rocky have also played together in the groups KILL SYSTEM, SOUL EMBRACED and MOURNINGSIDE.

LeCompt and Gray started playing with EVANESCENCE in 2002, before they were Grammy-honored as 2003's Best New Artist. They both left the band in mid-2007.

With MACHINA, LeCompt is relishing artistic and creative freedom in his songwriting partnership with Taylor and the band's grass roots touring exploits. "Everything blew up so fast with EVANESCENCE," he remembers. "We were instantly rock stars, everything was taken care of. With this project, we started from scratch and we're having to prove ourselves. We've had exciting response playing out live, and a lot of people know our stuff already. The crowds are growing in size and enthusiasm at every show, we can really feel things building."

Anyone who calls his own work "masterpiece" must be fucked in the head. Others will judge that, it's not up to the the guys in the band to say that. It's ok to say that you love the record and are proud of it, but when you say that it's a masterpiece you are really thinking that you're better than what you really are.

And it's even more funny coming from a guy who played in evanescence...

Sounds like John LeCcompt is a a chump. Wonder whether this will be as much of an unoriginal turd basket as We Are the Fallen? But, really, who cares about either of these bands? And why is this crap on blabbermouth?

Yes, indeed it's been a long hard road also for us, but I'm sure that was so much worth it!! I've been chasing your work for some years since 2007(sorry for being like the stalker, I didn't mean it.. :P), but for those days, John, Phil, Thad & Rocky (and Justin! I wish I could see him playing with you...), have been doing incredible things and making such wonderful materials and songs and shows, even making me think for going overseas just only to see your shows(and in fact, I've done it TWICE all the way from Japan to US! It was such amazing experiences for me!). They all have been making me so much excited and much much happier as ever!! for that, I want to thank you so much! Wihout you all's work, my life would have been much boring things... you all are wonderful!! I'm sure that I will be your fan of you FOREVER!! KEEP ROCKIN with your own music!!

I love you!!! MACHINA RULES!!!

OK, vicious ones, that's enough. I don't think and will not regard you as the fans of Eva. You're just the cowards and enjoying insulting someone. You have no right to insult them or anyone. I've been a huge fan of Evanescence since their first work, and loooooooooooooooooove Amy Lee, she's a goddess, my queen and I'm always keeping her in my mind. So I don't know if I will check this band or any others, maybe I will not, coz I have no interesting in whatever former members are trying to do, but I 've never ever insulted them and I will not, because I don't need to.

If you are the true fan of Eva, just show your love and support for Eva, that's good enough. Insulting or reducing have no meanings. Behaving like that is beneath not only the fans of Eva , also Amy's dignities. You're disgrace to Evanescence. Just go away.

to zerochance:
Have you ever heard that Amy calls her own works "Mastepiece"? She's always saying that. You don't know it, do you? That exactly proved that you're not a fan of Eva. You know nothing. Shame on you.

oh, one more thing... I don't mean that I hate Machine, or John or....whoever they are, only just I'm not interested in them. They're no longer Evanescence. Just the ones left behind. Why you guys are irritated to them? You worry something? I thought that we all knew already that Eva has nothing to worry without insulting or reducing someone else, if you're the fans of Eva. Eva's standing by itself forever. Don't waste your time to show your love by doing such stupid things. It only makes others give Eva fans , or might even Evanescence itself the bad impression.
just grow up. you're such immatured.

I reached up here from search result for Mick Mars. I didn't know Mick had done this project, looks like pretty much fxxkin' awesome sound with MACHINA in this video. I've never heard its sound though, I 'll check 'em out...

How pity, the fans are insulting the former members? What a crap. Yeah, they're nothing, just immatured. or are you 13-year-old-kid?ha-ha-ha.

and we call our works masterpiece, that's because we're sure that we're proud of it. What the fxxk, zerochance saying...ha-ha-ha.
Go back to your school, bro.
