FAITH NO MORE Frontman Swallows Shoelace At Hungary's SZIGET FESTIVAL; Video Available

Video footage of FAITH NO MORE frontman Mike Patton swallowing a two-foot shoelace from a piece of footwear that was thrown onstage during the band's August 16, 2009 performance at the Sziget Festival in Budapest, Hungary can be viewed below (go to around six-minute mark in the bottom clip). According to the Italian news blog Musica Metal, Patton attempted to continue singing with the shoelace halfway down his throat, before spitting it out and handing it back to the audience. After returning to the stage, Patton commented, "I saw some eyebrows raised during my last stint, but that's my show, and now let's move on!" Digging the GraveAround 30 photos that were taken at the Sziget Festival, which was held August 10-17 on an island in the middle of the river Danube (featuring additional performances by such acts as THE PRODIGY, DANKO JONES, BRUJERIA, BACKYARD BABIES, TURISAS, PLACEBO, MANIC STREET PREACHERS, THE OFFSPRING, and around 200 others) can be found on Musica Metal. FAITH NO MORE kicked off its reunion tour on June 10 with a headlining performance at the Brixton Academy in London, England. Original guitarist Jim Martin is not part of the reunion. Performing in his place is Jon Hudson, who played with FAITH NO MORE during the latter stages of its initial run after Martin departed. The rest of the band's best-known lineup — singer Mike Patton, Gould, drummer Mike "Puffy" Bordin and keyboardist Roddy Bottum — is intact. FAITH NO MORE released "The Very Best Definitive Ultimate Greatest Hits Collection" on June 8 in the U.K. via Rhino Records. This double disc set contains the band's greatest hits on the first CD, while the second CD features b-sides and rarities. To anyone who is a Patton fan, something like this isn't that surprising or shocking. An amazing singer and spectacular performer. But a bit odd? Hell yes!!
Good setlist too, great to see the underrated Digging the Grave ending the show!!

He's baaaaaaaaaaaaack. Good to see the band playing Just A Man as well. Lately I've been fond of starting KFAD off at Take This Bottle and playing it through to the end before starting it over again at Take This Bottle once more.

It is so awesome to see FNM back in action... and anyone who saw FNM back in the day knows that it is always a treat to witness the spectacle that is Mike Patton performing in front of an audience... how people don't think that swallowing a shoelace and coughing it up with gagging noises isn't funny, is beyond me...

..my dad saw him back in the nineties, he told me he saw him swingin his dick on stage back then... On august 16 he also slapped the camera a couple of times (footage was displayed on the big screens of course) before hitting his keyboard player as well, which got pissed off and left the stage. He also put some womens panties on his head while riding on the back of a security guy.... FUCKIN NUTCASE, but I gotta admit, he sings like a motherfucker!!

The eccentric actions of a true artist, who manages to annoy & create a lot of attention through a shoe lace is just amazing.
I couldn't stop laughing at this guy, he is genuinely as mad as a bag of badgers, and really entertaining for it.

Since when is slapstick humor eccentric? This guy acts like he should be part of the Jack Ass crew. Patton's "eccentric" behavior is funny to teenage boys and people who find fart noises funny.

um so what. i know he is weird and likes to put strange things in his mouth and say weird things, but it is what comes out of his mouth that is more important. the man can sing and make noises that are unreal. i'm not saying he's god, but he could probably sound like him or her if he wanted to. i hope he keeps eating shoelaces, peeing, pooping, screaming, singing, etc. for a very very very long time.
