ZAKK WYLDE Issues Health Update

BLACK LABEL SOCIETY frontman Zakk Wylde, who was diagnosed with blood clots in his lungs and was admitted to a Eugene, Oregon hospital this afternoon, has issued the following update via his Twitter page:
"To all our BLACK LABEL family worldwide, thanks for all the 'get-wells. Every 48 hours [I have to get myself to] the [hospital] ER [emergency room] to check my blood. Had a CT scan [a painless, sophisticated x-ray procedure which obtains images of parts of the body that cannot be seen on a standard x-ray — Ed.] today and have blood clots in each of my lungs as well as my leg. [I] can't sing because pushing can cause an embolism."
An embolism occurs when an object migrates from one part of the body (through circulation) and causes a blockage (occlusion) of a blood vessel in another part of the body.
BLACK LABEL SOCIETY has dropped off the remaining dates on the "Pedal To The Metal Tour" due to Zakk's condition.
The "Pedal To The Metal Tour" will continue without BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, and the rest of the bands — MUDVAYNE, STATIC-X, SUICIDE SILENCE and BURY YOUR DEAD — will carry on with the trek as scheduled.
Further updates on Zakk's medical condition will become available as they are known.

thats cool i also named my second son after zakk, and feel the same way bout this situation. heres hoping all the best for zakk, and that he can just relax and heal fully. atleast he'll be able to spend time with his family, even though its under such crappy circumstances.

M wife had to have several years ago a PTE (http://health.ucsd.edu/specialties/pte/who.htm) to cure this and is now 100%. You will be back big lad rocking again!

I have had the same exact thing happen to me when i was 16 years old... I was snowboarding and fucked up my leg and i ended up have an embolism in my lung as well... plus a huge ass blot clot in my leg... Im not sure where "pettjon" is comming from but this is something that you are never going to be 100% from.... My lungs are now fine also but i still have a blood clot in my leg just like Zakk and thats something that will never go away.... Plus when something like this happens they look at why it happened and how.... Was it from him banging his leg on something or does he have a blood disorder??? I wouldnt be surprised if they diagnosed him with DVT and stick him on blood thinners for the remainder of his life because once it happens then you are now vulnerable to blood clots. For for future reference "pettjon" you might wanna keep an eye on your wife... cause like i said, you will never be 100% from this condition ever again.

I hope he fully recovers.
I've bashed the guy quite a bit over the past few years, but I wish no ill will on the man. I hope he gets healthy, cleans up his lifestyle somewhat, and gets back to rocking out soon.

i went to the spokane version of this tour, but called Rock Hard II, on friday aug. 20th not a big fan but he kicked fuckin ass!! Sunday, Aug. 23 had tix to see Anthrax, Slipknot. I was getting concerned about recent cancellations by Anthrax in europe but I figured they are pro's and would play!? Nope!! I went to the show anyway, Black Dahlia Murder replaced them, Ive never seen them before!! Didnt give two shits for slipknot!!
And, Low and Behold the whole fuckin show was cancelled!!!
Anthrax first the Joey for CRAPKNOT has a medical emergency!? DOPESICK!? Then I read, monday Zakk has to cancel rest of tour!! I guess I was lucky after all to see him!?
GET WELL BROTHER!!

I hope Zakk gets better - that is some scary shit once they get in your lungs. This is actually kind of upsetting news to be quite honest.
Oh, and I love how there has to be at least one asshole in a post full of well wishers. He IS a REAL guitar player. Ozzy is the one is a fucking idiot, and Zakk's solo material has always been 10000000x better than what he has done with that mumbling retard Ozzy.

A CT scan huh? That's good. it means his kidneys are still working alright. If they weren't, he couldn't get contrast, and he'd need a VQ scan instead, which is quite annoying to do.

I count myself very lucky to have seen Zakk again in Spokane on Friday. He always Rocks Hard! I cannot believe some of you people dissin on him when he's laying in the hospital. Man Eugene is definetly turning into a really unlucky place for Zakk lately. First, during the beginning of the month, all the controversy started with Ozzy and Zakk, Zakk gave his response to the local Eugene radio show. And now this.

I was in the ER on August 27, 09 when they found that I have deep vein thrombosis. Big words for blood clot. I had the ultrasound and I was given Lovenox. I am on Coumadin now for at least 3 months. Love the stockings...gotta wear them myself..I hope you get better soon! I spent 5 days in the hospital. Get well!
