ENGEL completed work on its sophomore album at
PUK studio in Gjerlev, Denmark with producer
Tue Madsen (
THE HAUNTED,
HIMSA,
SICK OF IT ALL). The band is currently seeking a new label home following its split with
SPV Records (which issued
ENGEL's debut album,
"Absolute Design", in 2007).
"Absolute Design" received its long-awaited U.S. release on May 20, 2008 via
SPV/
Steamhammer.
IN FLAMES frontman
Anders Fridén helped his old friend
Niclas (they both played together in
PASSENGER) record demos and assisted in the production of the
"Absolute Design" CD at
Dug-Out Studios in Uppsala with
Daniel Bergstrand (producer of
IN FLAMES,
MESHUGGAH).
