I suppose this album is a step in the right direction (i.e., backwards). It's less poppish than Threads of Life, but still far short of OOB or TAOB. Seems like they really want to get back on track, but maybe they're just out of ideas.

better than TOL. that one was just awful.
deffentaly, sounds similar to the likes of TWW and TAOB.
its obvious that they are returnin to their roots, which is cool.
so, i might pick this album up when it comes out.

Better than that godawful Threads of Life. What a disaster!!

Of One Blood, Art of Balance, and War Within are Shadows Fall's greatest achievements by far. Retribution sounds like a return to form in many ways.

Of One Blood is shit. This band started with Art of Balance. New album is good and has been purchased.

on first listen it's kinda boring, good songs, good riffs, way better than 'Threads...' but there doesn't seem to be anything groundbreaking here either, nothing to make you sit up and go 'wow' the way 'Of One Life' and 'Art of Balance' did. Will def give it another few listens cause really love this band, but hope they haven't just run out of steam?
