THE BLACK CROWES Singer Vs. Overzealous Security: Video Available - Sep. 13, 2009

Video footage of THE BLACK CROWES frontman Chris Robinson berating an allegedly overzealous member of the security staff during the band's September 9, 2009 performance at Penn's Peak in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania can be viewed below.

"Before the Frost...", the new studio album from THE BLACK CROWES, sold 32,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 12 on The Billboard 200 chart.

As previously reported, Robinson is expecting a baby with girlfriend Allison Bridges. A rep for the singer, who has a 5-year-old son with actress Kate Hudson, confirmed Bridges' pregnancy.

Robinson and Bridges began dating in 2007.

"Before the Frost..." was released on September 1. A second album, titled "…Until The Freeze", was given away for free exclusively through a unique download code which is included in "Before The Frost…" as a "thank you" to their fans for two decades of continued support.

THE BLACK CROWES' set on the band's current tour features over two hours of music culled from the new release and the band's deep catalogue. Widely known for varying their nightly set lists performing new material, album cuts, rarities and covers in addition to their hits, THE BLACK CROWES consistently deliver a fresh and unpredictable live show.

	Security is there to protect you, if that kid had a gun instead of a joint, you would be hiding behind that "tough guy". You never know when another "Alrosa Villa" incedent will happen, so treat security with more respect.

	That security guy was more interested in someone smoking a joint than doing his job keeping fans "secure". If it was another Alrosa Villa situation he would have been too distracted to protect anyone. FTR-I have never smoked pot. I just think this guy overreacted and wasn''t doing his job. Most security people are great but he was an exception (at least this night).

	Axl Rose HAS done that. Sometimes it was deserved, other times it wasn't. If "security" isn't doing their jobs, I'm all for the bands stepping up and calling them out. Chris was right for what he did.

	I've been to so many shows where this has happened. Some security tough guys fuck with people lighting up a cigarette or they catch a whiff of pot and all hell breaks loose. Yet you see people getting knocked down left and right by drunks who don't give a shit about you when they are flailing their arms around and security gets scared and does not do their job. Security is there to keep people from getting hurt, not roughing up, mouthing off and arresting people for smoking a joint or cigarette and trying to have a good time. Of course it's illegal to light up a joint and in some places a cigarette, but does that give anyone the right to act violent towards them. A Black Crowes show ok?? I highly doubt the people smoking joints at the concert are gonna go start a fistfight with the person next to them afterwords. Know what I'm saying!? Bullsh*t!

	This all happened directly behind me. What this video doesn't show is some drunk asshole pushing his way up to the front and knocked over a woman whom was with a group of about 20 people. The woman's boyfriend started throwing punches and security was too busy talking to whomever was next to him to get involved. However, 5-10 minutes before this, a couple members of the security staff was all over a guy like stink on shit for smoking a cigarette thinking it was a joint. The second interruption was because the drunk asshole's friend needed some attention and thought he broke his hand.

	I went to a show on the Brothers of a Feather TOUR-Austin,TX show, and Chris started bitching (cut mid-song) about people talking when all they were doing including myself was trying to order a drink!!! It was a small room acoustic (200-300maybe) I used to work in this industry and have setup+seen many acoustic shows. This was definitely one of the quietest crowds I had ever seen. His comment was something to the effect of " We came here to Austin and you disrespect us by talking!" Everyone in the crowd,. you could tell, felt just like I did... UMM... I paid $50-somthing just to get in here I think I deserve the right to order a BEER!!! I loved the Crowes in the day,but I feel ever since Kate Hudson left Chris, he is taking his anger out on fans. His Brother of course could never be any quieter/cool that night and all the time. Chris is the whiny bitch. MAYBE HE HAS LOST HIS DEALER TOO!!!...now that I can understand!!! Smoke another Chris come on!!!

	Chris always has a pet peeve with drunk assholes and will always call them out when they are creating a disruption. Part of going to a Black Crowes show is getting into the groove and when that gets disrupted by the drunk guy going 'I'm going to go up front because I'm a drunk dick', Chris always calls it out. I don't understand why those jerks go to a Crowes show anyway, its not the vibe. It's OK to get drunk, but enjoy it without ruining someone elses night. I see these people get called out even more at all shows and they deserve to be, because when they act like that they want the recognition that they are the biggest drunk asshole in the crowd. Fans at Crowes shows are the most respectful of each other, so it is pretty easy to see the drunk idiots. Kudos to Chris for calling out security for worrying about a cigarette or joint or whatever and ignoring the real problem. Someone smoking a joint doesn't make me feel less secure.
