MUSHROOMHEAD Vocalist Says There is No More Beef With SLIPKNOT

MUSHROOMHEAD vocalist Waylon Reavis has told Noisecreep that his band's fierce rivalry with SLIPKNOT — which has consisted mostly of insult-trading and has unfolded, largely, through the media — is behind them. "It's been 10 years at this point, and we're still here and they're still there. And we still don't sound like each other," says Waylon. "They're not the first masked band, we're not ... no one was. I think there's a BEATLES video where they're wearing masks and costumes. "With music, I've always been into theatrics," Waylon continues. "All of us are big into theatrics. I wish more bands dressed up and did the theatrical thing. People like seeing a show. They like visually being stimulated, and not just like a dude in a Hot Topic T-shirt and tight pants playing guitar that spent five hours on his hair. I've seen them a dozen times since I live in Ohio. The last album wasn't that good and I lost it. I hope the new one is better.
Oh yeah, and those masks look dumb. Use the pumpkin masks.

This band went downhill once J Mann took off.
As far as the beef between the two bands, I don't think either band had a problem with the other for years. The only idiots that carry on the feud are the fans of both bands.

Mushroomhead sucks and Slipknot does not suck.
If it wasn't for Slipknot, chances are Mushroomhead would never have gotten any major label attention. Mushroomhead couldn't get off the mat for years in Ohio and along came Slipknot and stole their thunder and simply put it togther better with more brutality.

Mushroomhead were in talks with Roadrunner before Slipknot were around, but decided to them down. Then Slipknot came about.
Slipknot were a good band up until the end of Iowa. Their last two cds were major let downs.

They still make music, when did they start? sounds like they were interviewing that freak to keep the beef going. He just wants to tour with the KNOT...not gonna happen and I have yet to even hear anybody from slipknot say anything about this is the last 6 or 7 years....

I'd bet my left testicle you morons who put MH down, have never once seen them perform! The fact that SK has made it as big as they have makes this all the more insulting. Slipknot is as boring as the state they come from. But I'm for getting along, so as the post a few slots above mine says, let the two go on the road together and let's see who's who and what's what.

Saw them on the Mayhem Fest this year......and they were horrible.
Hell, I was stoked when Bullet For My Valentine dropped off ,then I saw these assmuppets were their replacement and wished BFMV had showed.

It sounds like you don't know dick about what happened.
Roadrunner tried to sign Mushroomhead. Mushroomhead did not like the lowball deal they got offered. Roadrunner found a copycat band by the name of Slipknot. Slipknot, while only having 3 decent songs on their freshman album, sold decently. So they resigned for a second album which suffered from the same fate. Now things are a tad bit different.
I'll admit that both bands are almost night and day in the sound department... but get over it. If Roadrunner picked up Mushroomhead you'd be getting an almost complete flip in your perspective on this notion.
