METALLICA played a benefit concert this past Friday night (September 11) for the Marin History Museum's "Marin Rocks" project at the 2,000-seat Marin Veterans Memorial Auditorium in San Rafael, California. It was the first show in Marin by the heavy metal supergroup.

According to the Marin Independent Journal, concert-goers paid from $100 to $350 a ticket to the sold-out show. MOONALICE, featuring Marin musicians Pete Sears and Barry Sless, opened the concert.

All proceeds from the show will be donated to the Museum's new exhibition that will celebrate our music community with displays and educational programs. Check out www.marinhistory.org for more information.

As always, the Mighty Metallica put on an incredible show in Nashville, mixed old great stuff with new great stuff....Really awesome that they did Holier Than Thou...Coolest part was the total respect and props that Lars and James gave to Motorhead and Lemmy, inviting him up on stage to jam for the first two encores. Guys sounded great, looked great, audience was everybody from 8-10 year olds with their parents to senior citizens....Amazing!
