NILE: New Album Track Listing, Artwork Unveiled - Sep. 15, 2009
The reigning kings of technical, historically-themed brutality NILE have revealed the track listing and artwork for their latest state-of-the-death-metal-art release, "Those Whom the Gods Detest". Produced and mixed by Neil Kernon (NEVERMORE, CANNIBAL CORPSE, QUEENSRŸCHE), along with a stellar drum-production job by Erik Rutan (CANNIBAL CORPSE, VITAL REMAINS, GOATWHORE), the CD features the band's strongest production and perhaps its best material to date! The cover artwork was created by Michal "Xaay" Loranc, whom NILE guitarist/vocalist Karl Sanders had previously worked with on his second solo album, "Saurian Exorcisms".

"Those Whom the Gods Detest" track listing:

01. Kafir!
02. Hittite Dung Incantation
03. Utterances of the Crawling Dead
04. Those Whom the Gods Detest
05. 4th Arra of Dagon
06. Permitting the Noble Dead to Descend to the Underworld
07. Yezd Desert Ghul Ritual in the Abandoned Towers of Silence
08. Kem Khefa Kheshef
09. The Eye of Ra
10. Iskander D'hul Karnon

Sanders told Revolver magazine earlier in the year that the band's sixth full-length album will likely be NILE's most eclectic offering to date. "We're going to some very unexpected places," he said. "I've been listening to some oud music [the oud is a Middle Eastern lute — Ed.], Iranian music, and some Hindu stuff, and that stuff's definitely rubbing off on the new songs."

"Those Whom the Gods Detest" is scheduled for a November 3 North American release via Nuclear Blast Records.

NILE's fifth studio album, "Ithyphallic", came out on July 17, 2007 via Nuclear Blast. Engineered by Bob Moore and produced by Neil Kernon, the CD was recorded at Sound Lab Studios in Columbia, South Carolina.

I don't know why, but I think that "The Eye of Ra" will be the best song on the album.

will someone please (PLEASE!!) explain to me how come Nile sells less in the US than Behemoth?

Nile can rip Behemoth a new asshole anyday under any circumstances, and yet...it seems Americans as a whole do go for the more catchy, rhythmic overproduced stuff while the brilliance that Nile puts on the table with every recording doesn't get much attention.

I am fucking excited by this. I can't wait, really! While the new Behemoth sounds decent and it's more down to earth than all the over excessive stuff they've done lately(still it's nothing spectacular, let's be honest), the new Nile will crush every fucking second of the new Behemoth. I can bet my life on this. The only sad part is that (as usual) this album will be too overwhelmingly brutal for most, too precise, too complicated, too intricate, too challenging to the mind and senses, so people will probably look the other way (again...)

I really hope THIS TIME people will give Nile what's theirs: The Motherfucking Death Metal Crown! It's fucking theirs and you know it!!

I have spoken!

i think Behemoth has a bit catchier tunes, not saying Nile isn't good cause they are, but Behemoth is getting a lot of the bigger metal tours, and they just finished the Mayhem tour which exposed them to a totally different audience

I like Nile, but I'm just kind of tired of how they keep going for faster and faster songs on every album without making anything particularly catchy. Ok, ok, we get it, you're fast as hell, kudos to you, that's great! Think back to Catacombs, Black Seeds, and even Shrines and put some more melodies/hooks into the music.

Just my opinion.

I heard the album..thanks to torrents ..2 days back..n well i m sure a lot of you also did..imo..
Utterances of the crawling dead,Eye of Ra,Kafir,Those whom the gods detest are the tracks that grabbed my attention instantly.
Some ppl who are complainin abt speed be rest assured that they hav hrd ur prayers and hav incorporated more of hooks and melodies in this record.Production is good and the introduction of ERIK Rutan helps George's sound but wel not like it was ever bad.
