CHICKENFOOT: 'Deluxe Edition' Of Debut Album To Include Bonus DVD - Sep. 24, 2009
International rock music record label earMUSIC will release a new, "deluxe edition" of the eponymous debut album by CHICKENFOOT in the U.K. on October 26. The two-disc deluxe edition includes a bonus DVD disc featuring exclusive live footage, behind-the-scenes interviews and both of the band's official music videos ("Oh Yeah" and "Soap On A Rope").

Last night's (Wednesday, September 23) CHICKENFOOT concert at the Dodge Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona was filmed for possible use on a future DVD release. The band's August 30, 2009 show at the Tabernacle in Atlanta, Georgia was also recorded for the same purpose.

CHICKENFOOT's self-titled debut album was certified gold by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) on September 10, 2009 for shipments in excess of 500,000 copies in the United States. The LP — which has actually shifted 315,000 units so far, according to Nielsen SoundScan — is packaged in heat-sensitive artwork, which means when you put your hand on the CD inlay, photos of the band members are revealed behind the CHICKENFOOT band logo.

CHICKENFOOT was formed last year by ex-VAN HALEN singer Sammy Hagar, who enlisted former VAN HALEN bassist Michael Anthony, guitarist Joe Satriani, and RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS drummer Chad Smith to complete the lineup, which has toured the U.S. and Europe since the release of the CD.

Glad I haven't bought it yet, though it's a pretty shitty move to wait a while after the normal release to release this version.

I'm so tired of buying a new album on day of release, only to find out two months later there's a deluxe version coming out pretty much for the same price, with added bonus tracks or DVD footage or whatever.

Them Crooked Vultures blows........so does Homme and Grohl. I hate those 2 arrogant dickheads.

Anyway, the Chickenfoot album was a HUGE disappointment, as I'm a big fan of Satch and VH. Sad.

Record companies have been "fucking" us for years that's why I feel no guilt for buying, burning, selling and or downloading. I've been tired of this deluxe edition bonus track bullshit for years. It's about power & control and finally they don't hae either any more.

Btw,I like the Chickenfoot album. Bought it,burned it, and resold it the first day. Thanks !!!!

I wanted this band to be good, but they suck. The songs are so generic and thrown together, and Sammy Hagar acts like a fool on stage.

BTW, is there any band that RiotAct doesn't like. I have a friend who is that way about movies. I don't listen to her opinion on films because she raves about everyone she sees.

Chickenfoot's cd and live show are fantastic. They aren't trying to rehash Van Halen, as some of you folks can't quite get. VH, Van Hagar, and Chickenfoot are all hgreat in their own right.

If you don't like Chickenfoot, don't buy the cd or go to the shows...that simple dudes. But quit annoying the rest of us here that enjoy them.

....WTTK 96.9 FM Talk Radio is using "Down The Drain" as their theme song to introduce curent and new shows during the commercial break, this band is getting really popular, my kid came home excited, saying that a couple of seniors were into Chickenfoot. I got my son into it, that is why he was so excited.

The vinyl release of the album is freaking fantastic sounding. Like the DVD there is heat sensitive printing covering the entire album cover.

The next edition will have a 3D poster of hagar's colonoscopy..limited to 500 pressings! I understand peoples love for hagar and anthony but they seem to be blinded to the utter blandness of the tunes...these are not the tunes that youthful passion are made of unlike VH 1st album that ripped it up and made no apologies...chickenfoot...music to change your depends and take cialis to....
