CINDERELLA To Release 'Live At The Mohegan Sun' In November
- Oct. 1, 2009
|
|
Frontiers Records has set a November 6 European release date for CINDERELLA's "Live at the Mohegan Sun" album. Featuring the all-original line-up of Tom Keifer (vocals, guitar), Eric Brittingham (bass), Jeff LaBar (guitar) and Fred Coury (drums), the CD features a recording of the band's July 21, 2005 concert in Uncasville, Connecticut on the VH1-sponsored "Rock Never Stops" package tour, which included support from RATT, QUIET RIOT and FIREHOUSE. The LP is being released in Europe as an appetizer to the ultimate live return of the band on the European soil, which is planned for the year 2010! "Live at the Mohegan Sun" track listing: 01. Intro02. Night Songs03. The Last Mile04. Somebody Save Me05. Heartbreak Station06. Coming Home07. Shelter Me08. Nobody's Fool09. Gypsy Road10. Don't Know What You Got ('Till It's Gone)11. Shake Me12. Fallin' Apart At The Seams * 13. Push Push * 14. Still Climbing * * Bonus tracks available on the first pressing in digipack Check out audio samples: "Night Songs": "Gypsy Road": "Don't Know What You Got ('Till It's Gone)": CINDERELLA's "Authorized Bootleg: Live at the Tokyo Dome - Tokyo, Japan Dec. 31 1990" CD was released on March 31 via Island/ Mercury. The band's U.S. tour with WARRANT, LYNCH MOB and LYNAM — which was supposed to take place in the summer of 2008 — was cancelled after frontman Tom Keifer's left vocal cord hemorrhaged during rehearsal, thereby making it impossible for him to sing in the immediate future.

It's been way too many years! Tom (Like he's on here reading this)- once you get the green light from the doctors you & the rest of the band need to take some time & record an album & then release it!
Thanks,

Even in these samples, you can hear Tom gingerly stepping around some of the higher vocal notes... can't say I blame him, but they should probably figure out a way for Tom to sing differently in order to keep performing. No one wins if he injures himself, as was seen in 2008. They might have to face the fact that he probably can't sing like a screechy 25-year old any longer and come up with Plan B- maybe use a different register or alter his singing style. I could live with that, and obviously they make no money and no one gets to see them if they can't perform or record due to injuries.

All this is is a repackaging of the "Extended Versions" disc that's out and available for around $5 here in the States. The only difference with this version is the 3 bonus tracks at the end.

What great news! So happy for all involved. Re: toms voice- I sang professionally and also developed nodes on my vocal cords. The style of singing heard on Cinderella's early albums is very very very hard on the voice. I encourage people to be compassionate in their feedback regarding Mr. Keifer's performances. It takes a lot of dedication and courage to endeavor to recover your voice after such an injury. I hope we can all be supportive of his recovery and the mindful maintenance of what is a very beautiful and delicate instrument. To hear Cinderella perform their hits in a lower key is great by me, and would be interesting to hear a changed arrangement of their songs. Blessings!

yeah... I thought the vocals were surprisingly GOOD considering this is just from a few years ago - especially considering his style. You tell me what rock vocalist sounds like he did 20+ years ago? Few do. Shit people, God forbid a musician age and continue to make music.
Tom, you kick ass.

sorry Tom..but save the mysery and embarrasment..i wouldnt even release this..he sounds like hes in pain here already..i used to dig Cinderella back in the first album era..then they just went all bluesy and gay....this must be a $$ thing..cause if i was Tom i wouldnt even release this...he sounds horrible and weak..!! ...like the saying goes..'its better to burnout, than to fade away' ..its not like they were anywhere near AC/DC status or even Motley for that matter....this is vocally bad, judging from the samples i heard....and should be sold to anyone..!!!

These comments regarding Tom's voice are unfounded and sad. By that, I mean it is sad to see people so eager to be unkind. The man was recovering from an injury. Be kind. Music is his life and what brings him joy, and perhaps a connection with his creative, divine inner self. If the guy had a range of one octave and no more- his melodies would still be poignant and beautiful, and catchy. Regardless of the technicalities of his performance, keep in mind- there is no such thing as a "weak" performance for him- he has too much heart invested and it shines through- and his delivery will ALWAYS outshine the many insincere performances by other musicians.
Judgements and comparisons are silly here. They are much more a reflection of the person making them than they are on the person being commented about. I hope you will be kinder to yourself so that you will find it easier to be kind to others. Warm regards, A

such a great song writer. He's a much better guitarist than alot realize. Cinderella is one of those bands that no matter who is with you in your car, you listen to and don't give a shit what they think..... then they admit that they too love Cinderella.
