SCORPIONS recently spent time in the studio with Swedish producers Mikael "Nord" Andersson and Martin Hansen (the team behind THE RASMUS' "Dead Letters" CD) recording their new album for an early 2010 release.

SCORPIONS extended their record deal with Ariola, which is part of the international media conglomerate Sony BMG Music Entertainment.

The band's latest CD, "Humanity - Hour 1", was produced by James Michael and co-produced by songwriter/producer Desmond Child, who has worked with such high-profile pop/rock artists as AEROSMITH, BON JOVI, ALICE COOPER, KISS, RICKY MARTIN, CHER, MICHAEL BOLTON and BONNIE TYLER.

SCORPIONS guitarist Rudolf Schenker will release his official German-language autobiography, "Rock Your Life", in Germany on October 14. An English-language version is also planned. More details will be revealed soon.

That's actually quite impressive.

I'd lose "Tease Me, Please Me" and "Winds of Change", though.

That may be, but I'd take the team player approach of the three Maiden axemen over the Scorpions guys any day. I love Uli's and Michael's playing, but both have to be the star and can't work within a band format. So, with Uli and Michael you get great playing but poor songs. I go see them perform live every time either of them is in my area, but I don't buy their albums any more. I continue to buy Scorpions and Iron Maiden albums and go see them both live.

Yes they do, still on a regular basis. I live in a top 10 market and they come her every 24 months it seems, a regular touring cycle. You probably don't hear about it because nobody cares anymore (or far less people do).

One of the worst concerts I've ever been to was The Scorpions. The overly choreographed stage show overshadowed everything, was really ridiculous. This was in the 80s during their hay day.
