DREAM THEATER: New Video Interview With MIKE PORTNOY Posted Online - Oct. 4, 2009

Spencer Matulaitis of PureGrainAudio.com conducted an interview with DREAM THEATER drummer Mike Portnoy when the band played the Molson Amphitheatre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on August 14, 2009 as part of the Progressive Nation tour. Watch the chat below.

DREAM THEATER's new album, "Black Clouds & Silver Linings", sold 40,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 6 on The Billboard 200 chart.

DREAM THEATER's last CD, "Systematic Chaos", opened with 36,000 units in 2007 to enter The Billboard 200 chart at No. 19. 2005's "Octavarium" premiered with 27,000 copies to debut at No. 36.

In addition to the standard-version CD, DREAM THEATER's tenth studio album, "Black Clouds & Silver Linings", was also made available on vinyl LP, as well as a three-disc, special-edition CD that includes the full album, a CD of instrumental mixes of the album and a CD of six cover songs.

	Portnoy is one of the best drummers in rock and metal up there with Neil Peart.

	Mike Portnoy is fantastic, but just his drumming, definitely not his Vocals, he should just let James Labrie do the singing. http://www.myspace.com/guitarmessiah7

	Not many bands of any style, nevermind prog/technical music, can whip out any song on any given night from a 20 year catalog and make it look like they have been rehearsing the setlist prior to the tour. Another reason DT are and always have been on a completely different level. As musicians they exemplify what any artist should strive to become. /fanboy rant off :)

	first Petrucci cut his hair and now Mike died his go-tee purple. I refuse to listen to them anymore. Man did they sell out! (-:
