SLAYER: Limited-Edition 'Hate Worldwide' Single To Be Released In U.K. - Oct. 9, 2009
A strictly limited-edition SLAYER "Hate Worldwide" one-track CD will be released in the U.K. on October 19. Only 1,000 of these will be released and will be made available exclusively through independent record shops.

For a complete list of stores that will carry the CD, go to this location.

The official CD-release and listening party for SLAYER's new album, "World Painted Blood", will be held on Friday, October 30 at Duff's Brooklyn in Williamsburg, New York beginning at 9:00 p.m. Free "World Painted Blood" merchandise and autographed copies of the best-selling Decibel magazine to date — the SLAYER issue — will be given away at the 21-and-over event, for which there is no cover.

The address is:

Duff's Brooklyn
168 Marcy Avenue (between S 5th & Broadway)
Williamsburg, New York

For more information, visit www.duffsbrooklyn.com.

"World Painted Blood" is scheduled for release on November 3 via American Recordings. The CD will initially ship with four special collector's edition covers. Each of the four covers will display one-fourth of a provocative continental map illustrated with human skulls and bones; when placed together, the four images form a complete and grisly map of the world.

All four of the initial CD packages will include a special blood-red, see-through top panel with the map displayed beneath it.

The "World Painted Blood Deluxe Edition" will have its own special layout of the map cover art and will be in a double-digipak housed in a blood-red, see-through plastic sleeve. The "Deluxe Edition" will include the "World Painted Blood" CD, the "Playing With Dolls" DVD, a 20-minute animated graphic novel featuring music from the album (including part of a new non-album song), and an expanded booklet.

"World Painted Blood" track listing:

01. World Painted Blood
02. Unit 731
03. Snuff
04. Beauty Through Order
05. Hate Worldwide
06. Public Display Of Dismemberment
07. Human Strain
08. Americon
09. Psychopathy Red
10. Playing With Dolls
11. Not Of This God

"World Painted Blood" was recorded in Los Angeles over two time periods, during October 2008 and then between late January and March 2009. The CD was produced by Greg Fidelman, who's spent time in the studio with METALLICA, THE GOSSIP, THE (INTERNATIONAL) NOISE CONSPIRACY, SLIPKNOT and others, and executive-produced by longtime SLAYER colleague Rick Rubin, who suggested Fidelman for the project.

If the rest of the album isn't substiantially better than Hate Worldwide and the title track then this will easilly be their worst album. They really are unbelievably lame songs.

After seeing a brilliant show from Megadeth wich left me fully pumped for Slayer, l and 6000 other metalheads were deflated and left feeling flat after Tom Araya announced after the opening song that he was'nt going to be able to sing because he's voice was gone and that the crowd would have to sing for him. l understand theirs not a lot you can do about it but it turned into a complete farce when he was inviting members of the audience up to sing songs and even at one point a roadie, who was downright awfull, to Toms credit he did try a couple of times but it just was'nt happening. lt was basicaly a Slayer instrumental set with 3 songs sung by 2 people from the crowd and a roadie. l would have preferd they played to a backing tape or Megadeth play a 2 hour show than have to put up with that ,and the way they walked off the stage at the end without an apology a wave or a thankyou was very dissapointing. Such a shame because they sounded incredible.

it wasn't the best slayer show i have seen thats for sure, but as a long time supporter of Double Dragon it was awesome to see Lee sing HateWorldWide, the look on his face was priceless!

Not bad, but really guys, if you expect Slayer to be pushing the extreme envelope, then yeah, you're gonna view them as boring, or predictable. But you're missing the point, that is the point, you can COUNT ON SLAYER to BE SLAYER. Like AC/DC or Deicide (although they took a quantum leap for the better IMO), they have a distinct sound that people can't get enough of, and I'm one of them. Really looking forward to hearing this bitch on my stereo. By the way, the new Megadeth album is good too! Complain on ...
