SCORPIONS Frontman Part Of Campaign For Climate Justice

Vocalist Klaus Meine of German hard rock veterans SCORPIONS is one of 55 world celebrities who have joined in recording a song to draw attention to the global warming crisis. The track is part of a mass media campaign on the threats of climate change organized by the Geneva-based Global Humanitarian Forum, headed by former UN secretary general Kofi Annan. The song entitled "Beds Are Burning", which was originally recorded by the Australian group MIDNIGHT OIL in the 1980s, can be downloaded from the Internet for free at this location. It can also be heard in the YouTube clip below. Meine can be heard/seen around the 2:08 mark below.

CRISIS?! WHAT CRISIS?!
Show me some hard science proving anything and then we'll talk. This is a scare storm brewed up and has no factual foundation at all. If people keep drinking this Kool-Aid, we're going to have MUCH higher prices on everything (due to energy compaines paying huge fines and the like and passing those costs on to US) while people like Al Gore get rich from those monies.
Keep in mind Al Gore is in line with those who will be selling energy credits (or whatever they are going to be called) and stands to make a king's ransom off of this should we be so stupid as to let it happen.
(You'd think that if ol' Al really gave a crap, he wouldn't be flying around in jets or having his limo train keep the engines on constantly.)
IF global warming was real - hey, I have quite an imagination also - then let's deal with the real problems:
1) Install catalytic converters on ALL volcanoes. Volc's dwarf man's output of pollutants by far and away. Better yet, BAN volcanic eruptions. I'm not concerned with the UN enforcing this... I doubt they could stop a science fair grade model volcano from erupting.
2) Ban water vapor. When sunlight hits water vapor, it results in heat. FACT: Water vapor makes up 95% of all greenhouse gases. Get this crap off the planet BEFORE WE ALL DIE.
3) Stop listening to anyone who has fame as a credential when making choices about believing this fairy tale or not. These Hollywood and Political idiots are isolated from the real world and base their facts on hearsay and what striped dragons tell them.
Amazing that anyone would take that corrupt Kofi's word at anything. Toothless, spineless, and brainless UN leading the rats once again. What a way to pat yourself on the back, Kofi. Go suck start a fire hydrant.

We've had a record cold year here in the U.S. Midwest, and now several cities are forecasting their earliest snowfalls in history. At some point, empirical data has to be taken into account along with the theory.
...Or maybe not.

I love the scorpians, but anyone that belives this garbage is an idiot.
I wonder how many SUv's & lightbulbs were around when the last iceage melted away due to the Earth warming.
The arrogance of these people to think we can screw up the waether on a global scale. the earth has been here billions of years and has had numerous warming & cooling pcycles. Earth will be here long after we're all dust.

I should have checked my message for typos. several times. Oh well, I'm an idiot, at least I'm not on the end global warming kick.
ANother thing, warm is good for life (look at the rainforests), extended growing seasons, (etc). Cold= rough times for crops, people with inadequete shelter, more chances for illness. I believe I would take that extra global 1-2 degrees, and keep my SUV.

Im glad to see the majority of posts being against this bs. Granted, some of the people that represent my position sometime look like idiots, but so do plenty on the pro cap and trade side. Its not that going in a more green direction isnt a good idea. Companies has been striving towards that over the last 10 of so years because the consumer wants it as long as it doesnt drive the cost of living through the roof. Gradual market-driven solutions will always be more successful than government-forced regulation of an already mis-regulated economy.

The US faces one of the earlierst winters in history. I reckon then everything else is fine. As basically planet Earth is the US.
You fucktards sell it to the people in Indonesia (four months draught in rain season), Philippines (three typhoons in 5 weeks), Morocco (rain in Sahara last summer), Germany (any snow in the lowlands in the last 15years, huh?).
I have been working as a (travel) journalist the last ten years, witnessed the shit above with my own eyes this year and I can state that basically every place I been to in the last five years except for the US and the Middle East was weird in terms of weather. I just returned from 4 weeks of constant rain and storms (3 at the same time) in Micronesia. Welcome to 2010.
The Scorpions may be idiots, Al Gore for sure is, and all these using your nature boogy man as a cash-in source are bastards including those carbon credit idiots. Nothing wrong with being pro cap, but there are limits.
You all are only afraid to lose your little comfort. If you think I am an idiot treehugger then talk to frequent travelers in the US that see a little bit more of the world than Mexico, Iraq and Hawaii. And better LISTEN carefully.

Where is the proof that our 5% contribution (and that's on the VERY liberal side of estimation, as it does not take water vapor into account) to greenhouse gases is causing the world to melt?
Sure, the weather may be odd in places (isn't it always? COME ON! It's the WEATHER!)), but it was also odd before humanity crawled out of the muck, too. Were the dinosaurs burning fossil fuels without catalytic converters? Was the T-Rex taking his private jet for a flight once too often?
During the middle ages - the last period of actual global warming - why weren't castles forbidden to burn stuff? Why wasn't there a gov't regulation to drive up the price of gasoline?
And what about the warming taking place on Mars? Why aren't the martians being forced to abide by a cap and trade system? What kind of SUVs are they driving?
IMPORTANT QUESTIONS THAT DEMAND ANSWERS. Pro-Warmers who avoid these questions are conceding that they are in the wrong. I will NOT "take your word for it" just because you buy into some media-hyped fairy tale.
Most of you would slam Christianity as a fairy tale, yet some slammers buy into this Global Warming BS without so much as a second thought. Mindless hypocrites. Do us all a favor and DON'T VOTE or have kids.
This is all akin to the "summer of the shark attack" back in 2001... except that shark attacks actually LESSENED that year... it's about about what you let mainstream media squirt in your eyes and (r)ears.

The entire theory is based on co2 being trapped in the atmosphere which warms the planet. First of all, mankind contributes 96 billion tons of co2 into the atmosphere yearly just from breathing. If the theory is true there isn't much we can do about it anyway. I'm from Chicago and this past summer was one of the coolest I've ever experienced. People have to wake up.

While mankind does expel a whole lot of CO2 into the atmosphere, a whole lot MORE of CO2 is naturally entering the atmosphere as well. Our contributions are dwarfed by what happens naturally.
Don't forget to take into account the fact that water vapor makes up 95% of all greenhouse gases, so therefore, is the bigger problem. Granted, CO2 helps magnify the effects of water vapor's wrath, but again, mankind's portion of the CO2 is so small it's funny.
This is like saying one can bring a lukewarm Olympic-sized swimming pool to full boil by dumping a bucket of boiling water into it once every two hours. Good luck with that... lemme know how it works out for you.
