MEGADETH Performs Instrumental Version Of '1,320'' In Adelaide; Video Available - Oct. 11, 2009
MEGADETH played a full set earlier tonight (Sunday, October 11) at the Thebarton Theatre in Adelaide, Australia after co-headliners SLAYER were forced to cancel their appearance due to vocalist Tom Araya suffering from severe laryngitis.

MEGADETH's setlist was as follows:

01. Set The World Afire
02. Wake Up Dead
03. Hangar 18
04. Skin O' My Teeth
05. She-Wolf
06. Kick The Chair
07. In My Darkest Hour
08. Devil's Island
09. Head Crusher
10. Washington Is Next
11. Rattlehead
12. Sweating Bullets
13. Tornado Of Souls
14. Symphony Of Destruction
15. Mechanix
16. Peace Sells
--------------------------
17. 1,320' (instrumental version)
18. Holy Wars

Fan-filmed video footage of the instrumental version of "1,320'", which was performed for the first time ever in Adelaide, can be viewed below.

The remainder of the MEGADETH/SLAYER shows will proceed as planned, with both bands performing at Challenge Stadium in Perth this Tuesday, October 13, and SLAYER performing a full set — including the classic "Reign in Blood" album in its entirety — at Luna Park Sydney this Thursday, October 15.

MEGADETH's new album, "Endgame", sold 45,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 9 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD shifted 8,200 units in Canada to land at No. 4 on the country's official chart.

MEGADETH's previous CD, "United Abominations", opened with around 54,000 copies in the U.S. to debut at No. 8. This was more than the 46,000 first-week tally registered by its predecessor, "The System Has Failed" (which landed at No. 18 on The Billboard 200 chart), and was a bit less than the 61,000 opening number of 2001's "The World Needs A Hero" (No. 16).

"Endgame" was recorded at MEGADETH's brand new, self-built studio in San Marcos, California — Vic's Garage — which was named after the legendary and iconic Vic Rattlehead character. The CD was helmed by MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine and British producer Andy Sneap (EXODUS, NEVERMORE, ARCH ENEMY, MACHINE HEAD).

I remember back in the day on the 'Peace Sells...' tour. After some idiot tossed something on the stage, a not quite sober Dave said 'Just because your Mom gargles my cum doesn't mean I have to take this sh*t'

so Key King PUSSED OUT and didn't take Dave up on teh olive branch?

Bunch of shit talkers if you ask me....

we're so metal....we're in our 50's and we're still doing photo shoots with buckets of fake blood on our heads..

are you fucking KIDDING me??

Mustaine hadn't said anything about them in fucking YEARS,
and Araya is all "I'm just WAITING for Dave to open his fucking mouth...

FUCK YOU.

What are you gonna do, tough guy?

Mustaine would kick your cartoon character ass.

Remember in Metallica's early days? Someone talked shit to Mustaine and got his fucking arm broke.

(that's the last straw that got him booted from the band, but I digress...)

Slayer are, collectively, cartoons.

The idea of a 50 yr old grandpa pouring buckets of fake blood, and singing about 'satan'....it's like watching the old road runner cartoons,
you know you can't feed shotgun pellets to birds, but it's a cartoon, so you just kinda laugh.

This is kinda like that, only more sad because these guys don't seem to get that the joke is THEM.

If Carrie King had been a REAL man, he'd have shown up and made fucking HISTORY by joining Megadeth onstage for a couple of tunes.

Now they'll just continue to wear thier bitterness on thier sleeves for the whole world to see..

MEGADETH HAS OUTSOLD SLAYER ALL AROUND THE FUCKING WORLD,
HAD MORE CHART SUCCESS, MORE ALBUM SALES...ANYWAY YOU WANT TO MEASURE THE SUCCESS OF A BAND...
DAVE OWNS YOU.

BOW DOWN TO YOUR MASTER, YOU CARTOONS!

OK, that may have been harsh (and wickedly mis-spelled)
but I am so fucking sick of these bands taking thier 'image' to the point where it becomes a wall between them and their fans.

FANS of METAL would've gone apeshit if he had walked out on that stage with Megadeth for one song...
It would've made METAL HISTORY.

Why the fuck NOT, Kerry??

Can you give an HONEST answer, one that doesn't include "I'M SO BADASS THAT I CAN'T LET SHIT GO AND YOU NEED TO THINK I'M BADASS SO I CAN'T LET MY GRUDGE GO EVEN THOUGH IT'S ALL PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING FAKERY"?

IF you REALLY still have an issue with Dave Mustaine, to the point where you won't join him onstage, then WHY TOUR WITH HIM YOU FUCKING HYPOCRITE?!?!

Can you answer that withOUT sounding like a dick?

Fuck, I used to be a fan of Slayer, and still like some of the tunes,
but when these fucking 'rockstars' pull bullshit like this it's how you LOSE FANS! Especially when you can tell it's fake anyway...
what's the point?
Saving your image at the expense of cd sales?
How ducking stupid and counterproductive is that?>

If he had done that one simple thing,
it would have undoubtedly spiked ticekt sales for the rest of the tour, since people would be wanting to see it happen in THEIR city, so more people would come to the show...

Man, talk about cutting your nose off to spite your face...dolts.

Who are you trying to fool?
Yourselves?

I see here Dave gets more time to blabber between shows, since Slayer is out. Well, from the show I went to back in 99 in Atlanta's Masquerade. These speeches of his are the low of the show. Hated it, and spoiled the feelings about the gig. Same here. How fuck up is to here things like "career" or "shut the fuck up".

Also wanted to note that there are no fun, cool communication between band members on stage here. Looks boring to me, and the bass player's arm position is lame, like in some rock or jazz bands.

The best guy here is a drummer.

actually, the problem was I had a great little bar gig last night,
and woke up feeling like I had a pair today, so I thought I'd take 'em out and swing 'em around.

Never met the man, though I've seen him w/family on the beach here near where he lives...did NOT go up and bother him...
family time isn't autograph time...didn't want my ass kicked...lol..

Damn, I need less coffee in the a.m., eh?

but in all sriousness, Paralon, don't you wiash some of these guys would get OVER themselves,
and put the fans first just for once, instead of letting their image paint them into a corner, and alienate fans that might be on the fence?

Staying true to a manufactured image, at the expense of the success of your band, seems very counterproductive to me.

Why WOULDN'T you want to have to biggest crowds possible, and share your music with as many people as possible?

Packed to the rafters- I was very close to where this footage was filmed.. Dave clerly meant he hadn't rehearsed enough the music and lyrics together.. Was a tight full on set.. a couple wild bralws right behind me between drunken yobbo's and security...Felt like Feb 1991 all over again when they first toured Aust..!

Dave was just swearing at this arrogant individual in the crowd just before 1,320. I was there about a metre away from the guy at times and he was giving Dave shit the whole time. Dave was actually really professional about it. He could of quite of easy ripped the guys to shreds (and most of the crowd). Who the hell pays to see megadeth just to deal out shit. The guy was just a asshole.
I was really impressed with the show. Felt like the band really delivered in full force. Dave sounded flawless in his guitar playing and the band as a whole was EXTREMELY tight.
