Great way to introduce them to the songs in a safe way. When they can comprehend the lyrics and riffs later, then give it to them.

We got the Tool and Metallica cd's at our baby shower. The Tool one is fucking creepy as balls. We never actually played them for her because they're too weird.

... but then a friend got my wife and I the Metallica "Rockabye Baby" as a baby shower gift. The tunes are a little creepy (the version of "Wherever I May Roam" is especially eerie) ... but the baby falls right to sleep when we play them at her bedtime.

Is is metal? Not at all. But it helps the kids sleep tight, and I'd much rather listen to lullabye Metallica than most kids music. Have you ever heard the freakin' theme from "Barney"? It'll make your ears bleed, man ...

baby girl prefers Alice In Chains, Deep Purple and Creedence C. Revival, she's never been a fan of baby songs (we played them for her but never worked, never paid attention to them). She also likes Flamenco singing, it hipnotizes her, kinda of weird but I'm happy with the first 3 bands, at least shows some fine taste!
