TYPE O NEGATIVE Keyboardist To Sit Out Tour; Temporary Replacement Announced - Oct. 15, 2009
TYPE O NEGATIVE has issued the following update:

"For the last several months, Josh Silver [keyboards] has been in school working towards certification as a paramedic. He is in the heart of the program and will be unable to tour with the band on the upcoming dates.

"Rest assured, Josh remains a member of TYPE O NEGATIVE and will continue working with the band going forward. With that said, we would like to announce that stepping in on keyboards for the dates will be Scott Warren from HEAVEN & HELL/DIO."

TYPE O NEGATIVE tour dates:

Oct. 16 - Sayreville, NJ - Starland Ballroom
Oct. 17 - Worcester, MA - Palladium
Oct. 18 - Hartford, CT - Webster Theater
Oct. 20 - Cleveland, OH - House of Blues
Oct. 22 - New York, NY - Nokia Theater
Oct. 23 - Allentown, PA - Crocodile Rock
Oct. 24 - Clifton Park, NY - Northern Lights
Oct. 26 - Cincinnati, OH - Bogart's
Oct. 27 - Atlanta, GA - Masquerade
Oct. 29 - Milwaukee, WI - Rave
Oct. 30 - Chicago, IL - Metro
Oct. 31 - Detroit, MI - Harpo's

Support on the trek will come from SEVENTH VOID, the new band featuring TYPE O NEGATIVE guitarist Kenny Hickey and drummer Johnny Kelly.

The three LP/DVD limited fan edition box set version of TYPE O NEGATIVE's latest album, "Dead Again", was released last year via Amazon.com. The package included "Dead Again" on high-quality 180-gram vinyl plus a bonus DVD, along with an exclusive t-shirt and mp3 files of the album.

TYPE O NEGATIVE in February 2008 released another special edition of its acclaimed new album, "Dead Again". The deluxe CD version contained a bonus DVD with exclusive live performances, interviews and studio videos. The discs were repackaged in a special red cover.

I guess touring doesn't pay the bills. Props to Josh Silver for doing what it takes to help himself and his family. Plus what's more dark and goth than dealing with blood and knife wounds every day?

Peter Steele: Master of the play on words. But in all seriousness, good luck to Josh.

Josh is the backbone of this band, having produced all of their records and really defined the band's 'sound'. Would be wierd to see TON without him.

In a perfect world, he would be a huge in demand producer.

so he's not making a living off TON? I'm surprised. this band is class, no bullshit coming from these guys, no line up changes either.
good luck to him, from another born again student :)

Josh had said in the past he can't see himself doing Type O past the age of 45. Obviously he is working towards life after TON.
I can't pay to see Type O without him

Nobody is getting rich off type 0. They are a band that in a perfect world would sell in the millions (bloody kisses aside). However they don't. In the age of stealing music, they probably only sold maybe 50,000 or so of dead again. Plus their touring is short and a little erratic these days. Sounds like josh is either indulging an interest or prepping for the future. Hopefully they will be around a few more years. They are one of the best bands going today, they make great records and are an excellent live band.

Planing his future is a good thing. Let's face it, no one will make a decent living oit of royalties once the band stops its activities. Being a musician is not a safe bet on life, you need a back-up alternative to pay the bills.

Spacemonkey, you nailed it, it's almost that perfect Type-O season. i'm in South FL so it's still very very hot, but it will be fall soon, and i will probably subconsciously rock the TON a lot
more than usual.

And much respect to Josh Silver...do whatever you feel you need to do man. I'm glad to see tha the band is pretty cool about it and aren't being little bitches about him not touring (not that I expected them to act that way, they're pretty cool guys).

Type O is one of my fav bands and I've seen them live 8x since 95 - they always kick ass. It'll be sad to see the band without him at the Palladium tomarrow, but he's making a wise choice for the future for when Type O calls it a day.

TON is the all time best. I just got my degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics and Type O's music got me through my studies. Josh is a mastermind producer, and believe me, paramedics really dont make that much money either.
Josh is Peter's right hand man..... this is gonna be weird.
Going to see them at the Metro here in Chicago on the 30th.
Wish Josh the best!

Saw them lastnight (10-30) at the Metro. They fucking rocked the house. Pete looked a little rough but he sounded great. The band had alot of drive and you could see it. Great set list, the whole thing was good. It was good to see them once again
