SLAYER: Japanese Footage Available - Oct. 21, 2009
Video footage of SLAYER performing the song "Seasons In The Abyss" on October 19, 2009 at Studio Coast, Shin Kiba, Tokyo, Japan can be viewed below (courtesy of "shawnjnewell").

SLAYER will perform on ABC-TV's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Wednesday, November 4 (which will actually air the morning of Thursday, November 5).

30-second, reduced-quality audio samples of all the tracks that appear on SLAYER's upcoming album, "World Painted Blood", can be streamed on Amazon.fr.

"World Painted Blood" is scheduled for release on November 3 via American Recordings. The CD will initially ship with four special collector's edition covers. Each of the four covers will display one-fourth of a provocative continental map illustrated with human skulls and bones; when placed together, the four images form a complete and grisly map of the world.

All four of the initial CD packages will include a special blood-red, see-through top panel with the map displayed beneath it.

"World Painted Blood" was recorded in Los Angeles over two time periods, during October 2008 and then between late January and March 2009. The CD was produced by Greg Fidelman, who's spent time in the studio with METALLICA, THE GOSSIP, THE (INTERNATIONAL) NOISE CONSPIRACY, SLIPKNOT and others, and executive-produced by longtime SLAYER colleague Rick Rubin, who suggested Fidelman for the project.

Tom sounds great. Maybe sometimes its good that a voice problem apears. Then he is able to "sing" a little more........and it sounds fucking great.
Too bad they don“t come to Denmark this time. And I really think World Painted Blood sounds great. I think the sound on the album is the best in a long time. It sounds like the old days. Like a demotape with SLAYER from the underground. COOL.

Mmm! That drum-fill right before the singing starts on the second verse is the best drum-fill ever! Whooooooa!!

I wish he'd play a little less spontaneously on his leads. Dude's got some classic leads as far as Slayer goes and it sucks that he doesn't usually attempt to duplicate them live. His Seasons solo is one of my favorites of his and I don't think I heard one single note that he played on the recording 19 years ago. Ah, well. Kerry usually stays pretty close to the blueprints.

Yeah, I wish he'd try harder because the leads on the classics albums are fucking great!

Wow. Just awful.

Lombardo is awesome, but those vocals are a train wreck. The others seem to be phoning it in...

The singing is beyond bad. Can't really say much positive about the rest of the band exept the drummer of course. Hyped is the word that comes to mind.

Weakest? SITA is one of their greatest! Tom's a little hoarse here and there but he sounds pretty good. He screams too much anyway.
