KISS Interviewed Backstage In Tampa; Video Available

Fox 13's Mark Wilson conducted an interview with KISS backstage at the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa, Florida on October 21, 2009. Watch the chat below. KISS' new album, "Sonic Boom", sold 108,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 2 on The Billboard 200 chart. This marks the band's highest-charting LP ever. KISS has notched eight Top 10 albums, according to Billboard.com. Its previous highest-charting set was 1998's "Psycho Circus", which debuted and peaked at No. 3 with 110,000 copies in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The group's other high-charting sets include 1975's "Alive!" (No. 9), 1977's "Love Gun" (No. 4) and 1992's "Revenge" (No. 6). "Sonic Boom" was released in Europe on October 5 via Loud & Proud/ Roadrunner Records. The CD was made available in the U.S. and Canada on October 6 exclusively via Wal-Mart, Walmart.com and Sam's Club retail locations. KISS filmed footage for the "Modern Day Delilah" video during the band's private warm-up show at Cobo Arena in Detroit, Michigan on September 24. Over 1,500 lucky fans attended the event, where the group also previewed its new stage and taped two songs for an episode of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!"

Eric says if kanya show up he can induct us. What the hell is talking about? Us???? I dont think Eric should be in the hall with kiss. ya 3 albums and on and off for 18 years most of which has been idel time. Dont get me wrong I think Eric is a great drummer but doesnt warrent him going in with kiss.What if he gets in with kiss and when Alice gets he goes with him too? Would he be the first to be in 2 times?

I went to this KISS show last night in Tampa (fifth time seeing KISS) and brought my 9 year old. They still got it. Put on a great show. Tommy and Eric were on the money. Would have fooled me if I didn't know Ace and Peter were out. 90 million records says something. I do have to laugh tho. Everytime I read on Blabbermouth about KISS and everyone makes fun of Paul with the Peeeeeeeoooooople. It cracks me up. So last night at the show my kid even commented about it. Thought it was funny as hell. Anyway - KISS rules !!!!

Get over the fact that Ace & Peter are not in the band.
In case you haven't noticed - Iron Maiden, AC/DC & Deep Purple to name a few are still making records & touring the globe without their original line up.
Get over the fact that they still play their old songs all the time.
Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath still have their old songs played all the time. The difference is their band members can't get over their ego's long enough to play together live anymore. Shit people creamed themselves & forked out thousands to see the reformed 3/4 of Led Zeppelin play their "old' songs at London's O2 Arena.
Get over the fact that they stick their name on everything. It's called marketing your product. If you wanna get your music heard you gotta get your name & music out there. If it's by sticking your mugshot on a potato head so be it.
Get over the fact that the may not be the most "talented" musicians around. Besides, who decides whether they're talented or not ? You ? I guess slummin in your momma's basement, playin beginner mode guitar hero & flippin burgers at macca's qualifies you as a talent scout ?
What I can't get over is the fact that you spend so much time posting crap about a band that you hate. Maybe if you put as much effort into promoting the bands you actually like maybe they may be more successful and bands as supposedly untalented as KISS may not get so much media attention.

I saw Kiss with Ace and Peter in 2001 and they were fine.....the most annoying part of the show was Paul's stupid "We love you ( insert name of city here) raps.....that and the fake applause meter.....what am I fuckin' 10? Thanks for the slap in the face assholes!

Necrosaur, the point I was making is that all the haters out there act, please notice the key word ACT, tough and brave over the internet. Anybody can be brave and tough over the internet or phones. The whole I am a wanna be tough guy and I can say big swear words on blogs or whatever is the work of cowards in the truest sense of the word. I am not going to swear on this or any other website. None of us are ever going to meet face to face. You go ahead and be one of the phony tough and crazy brave. I am completely comfortable in how tough I am. I do not do my talking on the internet. kiss sonic boom is currently 3rd biggest selling album in world at the moment, still in top 20 on all the charts, and once the alive 35 tour finishes it will be kiss's biggest and most sucessfull tour EVER, and that is with out those 2 drug fucked loosers.....

I agree the living in Mommys basement is so over played here. I think they should change it to living your run down studio apartment, Look her is the kitchen and if I open this cabinet this is my bedroom and just turn around 1 and half feet over there is my living room and I have to use the sink as my toilet. the rest is filled of picturs of my Mommy. But I still wear more makeup and higher heels than her. lmao

Daren, Kiss has been following and changing the script for decades. It's one of the reasons why I became frustrated with them. They became full of shit with every twist and turn and most people are too moronic to get it and see through it.
jh5aik - seriously. People who talk about how tough they are in person or on the internet 9 times out of 10 are not tough at all and have some sort of insecurity's about themselves. Either that or they are too young to know better. What does being tough have to do with talking (good or bad) about music and bands? That's just lame speech coming from someone who is piised off that other people do not share the same opinion. That's what my "WHAT?" was for. It was sarcasm.
And Mr. BIll I don't mind you posting here but your bitching about Genesbuger is just as old as his PEEEEEEEPLE posts if you want to look at it that way. I happen to like his posts. I find them funny when he's being funny and when he speaks on KISS matters in a serious note I like his point of view then too.

I like how Eric is now stepping up and trying to take credit for the band's history! Listen Scab-boy, you were part of KI$$ during their shittiest period, and have very little to do with the history of the band, other than being a hired gun. So just keep pretending you're Peter Criss, collect your paycheques and shut your yapper!
