$100,000 Reward In Missing METALLICA Fan Case - Oct. 23, 2009

Lindsey Henley of WSLS 10 reports: Morgan Harrington's parents confirmed to WSLS Thursday evening that there is a $100,000 reward for information that will help police find her.

Officers from State Police, the Albemarle County Sheriff's Office, and the Greene County Sheriff's Office re-searched parts of the University of Virginia campus Thursday. Investigators searched the area near University Hall where someone found Morgan Harrington's purse this past Sunday morning. That search included looking through thick underbrush.

We also have a better picture of the timeline that lead up to Morgan Harrington's disappearance.

Investigators say Harrington's trip to UVA's John Paul Jones Arena this past Saturday began with her and her friends driving to Harrisonburg, where they picked up more friends.

The group then drove Morgan's car to the arena in Charlottesville for the METALLICA concert.

After the concert started, but before METALLICA took the stage, police say Harrington went to the bathroom. Somehow Morgan ended up outside the arena, and she was not allowed back inside due to a "no re-entry" policy for the concert.

Police say 8:30 p.m. Saturday is the last contact that Harrington had with her friends. Investigators say Morgan told her friends that she would either wait for them, or get home safely. Police say Morgan's friends had no reason to believe that wasn't the case.

According to police, Morgan's friends drove Harrington's car back to Harrisonburg, and spent the night there.

	Radio DJ in D.C. was talking to people who went to this show and everyone said that it makes no sense why she would have left the building to go to the bathroom since it is nowhere near the exits. They also noted that the story about her telling her friends she couldnt get back in an was going to find a ride made no sense since she brought her own car there. Strange ass case seems like some unknown guy (possibly met on internet) lured her outside and kidnapped her somehow. That is the only logical explanation. Hope they find her... alive.

	Maybe the friends offed her before or after the show? How do you know they are telling the truth? Anyone remember Scott Peterson...my wife went jogging.... Do the police have real evidence that the girl contacted her friends to say she was outside? If so, one of them couldn't have brought her the car keys? It's her car! Some one may have led her outside...but don't overlook the "friends". That shit happens all the time. Family and friends are always on the list of suspects.

	I am wondering (as Padlock noted) if she ever arrived at the show. Do they have any proof? Strange that she ended up outside of the arena to find a restroom. Stranger that she didn't get in her own car. What about phone records? This is a bizarre story that does not make a lot of sense. One that does seem to point to the need for more questioning of the friends.

	well, don't forget how HELPFUL the people at rock concerts are. I've been pointed to the wrong door or wrong exit, many times. Go thru the wrong door and...you're outside. Now you can't get back in. Try asking for help at a rock concert, or to get back in. The $7/hour employee gets their (his or her) chance to be in power and say NO to whatever you're asking for. so add a girl's mistake and frustration, combine that with the attitudes of security at venues, and then give a criminal an opportunity....she's gone. what a shame. the part about the car is odd. She did not take her purse and keys to the bathroom. (huh?). Personally, I'd sleep in the car and wait till they knock on the window to get in and go home. (If she can find the car in the parking lot, with 20,000 other cars). If they have security cameras and they scan tickets (instead of tearing off the ends), then they can confirm if she went to the conert, or if her friends killed her and 'borrowed' her car.

	Speaking as a big brother to 4 brothers and 3 sisters, I hope this whole case comes out for the better. I've taken my little sister to some big arena type shows, and she never leaves my sight. And if she does (bathroom break) she's posted right next to security and vice versa... People are friggin animals in this world and sadly, cute girls are targets. 	Get rid of the No-Re-Entry policy!!!!!! It's a BS rule anyway. We've all been to a Metallica concert. You know damn well this girl is missing because some powertrippin' door attendant used his authority to say NO to a little metalhead!!!!! We've all seen it before!!! This girl was never seen again!!!!For all he knows... the smoking section is outside the arena, if you are led out the wrong set of doors..... NO RE-ENTRY FOR YOU!!!!!!!!! Policy needs to be changed to help protect concert goers, no endanger them. METALLICA RULZ!!!!!!!!!!!

	Ok so we have all at least SEEN people get busted for doing something "unlawful" at a rock show from being caught on camera!! There are usually cameras EVERYWHERE. They should have some visual for her coming / going. That can get the ball rolling. My thoughts go out to her family. At this point EVERYONE is a suspect.

	That re-entry policy is archaic in these times of smoking outside. If she went out for a cigarette and used the wrong door, and the assholes didnt let her in and someone snatched her, the venue should be completely liable.
