PUSCIFER: 'The Mission' Video Released - Oct. 27, 2009
"The Mission", the new video from TOOL frontman Maynard James Keenan's side project, PUSCIFER, can be viewed below. The clip, crafted by Meats Meier — who has had a long history with Keenan, including work with both TOOL and PUSCIFER — was filmed in downtown Los Angeles and features Meier's inordinate animation talent.

"The Mission" features both Keenan and actress Milla Jovovich on vocals and has received a significant amount of radio airplay throughout 2009. The previously unreleased song will finally surface on the "C is for (Please Insert Sophomoric Genitalia Reference Here) E.P.", which is due out on November 10.

You can hear "Polar Bear", a new song from the EP, via PUSCIFER's MySpace page.

"C is for (Please Insert Sophomoric Genitalia Reference Here) E.P." track listing:

01. Polar Bear
02. The Mission (Renholder Mix) (feat. Milla Jovovich)
03. Momma Sed (Alive @ Club Nokia)
04. Vagina Mine (Alive @ Club Nokia)
05. Potions (Deliverance Mix)
06. The Humbling River

PUSCIFER will kick off its first tour with a swing through the Western U.S. on October 29 in Las Vegas (a Midwest/East Coast run is in the works for 2010).

In a recent interview with Noisecreep, Keenan stated that fans can expect nothing but to be surprised on the upcoming PUSCIFER tour, which runs through early December.

"Whenever you see a city with a double booking, it will be a different performance both nights," Keenan said. He went on to describe PUSCIFER as "a gathering place for other solo projects, as well as mine. Eventually, it will become more of a stable, core band, but initially it is definitely an experimental phase, with people coming and going."

video is cool, but that has to be the worst Puscifer song I've heard, I don't like Jovovich's vocals at all

the only decent music puscifer has ever made was on the underworld soundtracks. other than that this whole project is a FAIL musically. We all know maynard likes to be weird. im sure its a good bizarre live show but it sounds terrible and doesnt use his voice at all. i had high hopes after the underworld soundtracks but he stripped everything down and it just sounds bad for this stuff

i dig this puscifer stuff. i agree that time would be better spent doing something with tool or apc like everyone else. but this is fun and you never know what to expect. the video is pretty sick, and milla's voice is awesome on this track. the other track on the myspace page is pretty good too. puscifer isnt something i have ever kept in constant rotation but it definitely is great to hear in the right times. i'm just glad to hear something from maynard. amazing voice.

COMMENT | don't listen to the haters Maynard

these poor fools don't sound like they invest much in diversity. musically, Rychiar, the Puscifer works are stunning. Songwriting and production alike. NOTHING else made has ever sounded like them. Yea, it's pop music. So? i love it all.

that's just me.

Puscifer is ok...nothing to write home about. What I am tired of, is doing searches for Tool news and all I find is Puscifer info.
