SLASH Performs 'Sweet Child O' Mine' With BLACK EYED PEAS; Video Available

VELVET REVOLVER/ex- GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Slash joined the BLACK EYED PEAS on stage at the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles Sunday night (October 25) to perform the GN'R classic "Sweet Child O' Mine". Watch video footage of his appearance below. Slash has one final track left to record for his forthcoming solo album, which will be released in February/March under the "Slash & Friends" banner. "This song is really cool and the singer is amazing," Slash wrote on his Twitter profile. Slash has already recorded 18 songs for his upcoming solo LP, including "Sahara" (featuring singer Koshi Inaba of the Japanese hard rock duo B'Z), which will be released as a two-track CD single in Japan on November 11, also containing a version of the GN'R classic "Paradise City" (featuring CYPRESS HILL and Fergie [a.k.a. Stacy Ann Ferguson] of the BLACK EYED PEAS). Slash tracked most of the album with former NINE INCH NAILS drummer Josh Freese and ex- JANE'S ADDICTION bassist Chris Chaney. Other confirmed guest singers so far include Ozzy Osbourne, AVENGED SEVENFOLD's M. Shadows and Chris Cornell ( SOUNDGARDEN, AUDIOSLAVE). The CD was produced by Eric Valentine ( GOOD CHARLOTTE, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE) and features additional appearances by ex- GUNS N' ROSES drummer Steven Adler, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS bassist Flea and former NIRVANA drummer and current FOO FIGHTERS frontman Dave Grohl. Slash left GUNS N' ROSES in the mid-'90s, forming SLASH'S SNAKEPIT before later assembling VELVET REVOLVER with several other ex-members of GUNS N' ROSES and STONE TEMPLE PILOTS singer Scott Weiland (who was dismissed in April 2008).

got nothing wrong with him playing with the black eyed peas my only critisism is that songs not played in standard and that distortion sounds horrible but thats proberly me just being picky i doubt anyone in the arena gave a shit.

Hmmm. The 'farting' throughout was a perfect testament to this slop. man, Slash seemed bored to tears throughout - so what, did he walk offstage, collect twenty bucks and, rush off to 'jam' with some other pitiful 'band'?

I rarely ever post on here, but felt I had to add my 2 cents. What Slash is doing to his reputation is really sad. The guy was the lead guitarist in a band which, in my teenage years, was just so inspirational to millions of people. G N' R had the world at its feet. I blamed Axl Rose for its eventual disintegration. I now think Slash is just as responsible. Maybe more so. Up until recent months I considered Slash to have a degree of musical integrity. He's selling out on a whirlwind of self promotion for his upcoming solo CD. No doubt about it. I remember interviews where he would make gripes about Aerosmith being past it and a little sad. His mojo left home and no one told him. He's become a slave to the dollar and the lure of lasting fame. What next? Iggy Pop doing insurance adverts? Yeah, right!

i have to agree with you, not everyone will but i do on this one......it was a bad performance, i'm sure the crowd enjoyed it but is was not the best by far.....and i'm not quite sure she even knew all the words since she didn"t get them right....LOL she might have lovely lady humps.....LOL but she does not have G N R style......hey fergie.....GETCHA PULL....!!!!!!

After all, Slash has played with pop singers before, such as Paulina Rubio, Marta Sánchez and the Pussycat Dolls... Look for it in youtube if you think you can stand the songs.

you can't do a GNR song with out Axl...sorry Sweet Child
is and always will be an Axl Rose song.... Fergie sounded terrible
Wish the boys from GNR would just
kiss and make up...they are so much better together than apart.

i dont really have a problem with fergie and slash performing together. she's got a pretty good voice when shes not singin the usual pop music garbage, but the other BEP's should have left the stage instead of standin around lookin like dickheads. oh and slash's tone was friggin horrible

I can't believe that Rock has come to this... I can't believe Slash has deserted Rock music so far as to play at an RnB gig with Fergie giving a pitiful attempt at imitating Axl.
I'm annoyed and astounded that he'd do this, when he was one of the most hardcore, rebellious rockers out there. Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

Has anyone heard Slash play really well live in the last couple of years? His playing seems to be getting worse. He either isn't practising or he is relying on the sound he gets on the recorded music to keep up his reputation. Also the sound is bad including the amps and the guitar tone sounds like he never bothered to check . His LP will sound better because they can edit and enhance to make it sound like he is playing well. This video is so far from his playing on the Street Child solo where he did the most amazing playing that it seems like someone else is playing here. Of course the Street Child video was recorded and so will his upcoming lp . Maybe the recording will be good.This is really bad. I liked the solo on the Street Child video better than the Sweet Child of Mine video.

That was painful!! I'm a major fan of this guy but the more I see of him jamming with anyone that will have him, the more I think "he's past it!". That last VR album was rather poor, I really hope this solo album coming out will be better and have some real decent work on it!

Does anyone remember the year the best female performance grammy went to Sherly Crow for Sweet Child 'O Mine and the one for male vocalist went to Lenny Kravitz for American Woman? Lenny's cool, but seriously, Grammys for re-makes! That was a sad year for music. You get what you get. At least Slash is participating in his own "do-overs."
