EERIE VON's Photo Book Pushed Back To December - Oct. 29, 2009
From the deepest depths of punk rock's 1970s primordial wastelands, through the stygian goth swamps of the 1980s, and on into the bloodstained arenas of 1990s heavy metal, Eerie Von witnessed it all.

Beginning as the unofficial photographer for punk legends the MISFITS and later taking charge of the bass guitar as a founding member of underground pioneers SAMHAIN and metal gods DANZIG, the evil eye of Eerie's camera captured the dark heart of rock's most vital and bleeding-edge period, a time when rock and roll was not only dangerous, but downright menacing. Eerie Von's "Misery Obscura" offers firsthand insight into everything from the MISFITS' humble beginnings in Lodi, New Jersey, to the heights of DANZIG's stadium-rock glory alongside metal superstars METALLICA.

"I've been planning this book for twenty years," Eerie Von stated. "The fans have been begging for it almost as long. It's been a great ride, and I'm glad to be able to share some of it with those who were there, and those who wish they were."

"Misery Obscura" is not only an essential visual document of music history; but Eerie's scrapbook-style stories of triumph and damnation bring to life an era the likes of which will never again be seen. Featuring layout and design by Tom Bejgrowicz, who conceived and executed the release of the infamous MISFITS "Coffin Box," Eerie Von's "Misery Obscura: The Photography of Eerie Von (1981-2009)" arrives on shelves on December 30 via Dark Horse.

And he was a major part of what made those first two Danzig Cds so killer.
The self titled Danzig is one of the greatest albums in hard rock/METAL ever.
Glad i got to see that line up live a few times
RIP

Apparently around Danzig 4 period Glenn made the rest of the band sign contracts stating that they were employees of his. Chuck wouldn't sign it and bailed. J and E did but then were canned after the last of the Danzig 4 touring. Obviously there's bad blood since they felt it was more of a band than just a solo project.

This was not long after all of the Misfits lawsuits were Jerry was trying to sue for rights to the devilock and crazy shit, this was obviously a reaction to that. It sucks because the original Danzig lineup was amazing and and was consistantly one of the best live bands I'd ever seen. I don't like the result of it but I do see where Glenn was coming from all of with this.

***UPDATE***: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada's The Straight contacted Biscuits' former bandmate Joey Keithley, singer-guitarist of D.O.A. He confirmed that Biscuits is very much alive. BrooklynVegan also received word that Keith Morris of the CIRCLE JERKS has refuted reports of Chuck's passing.

Then why is he doing music for pornos since the 90"s. Glenn Has always changed line ups, from the Misfits "Static Age" days to Today. He had that lineup for years and was moving into a different musical direction. So they're lucky they got to stick around that long. If they we so great why didnt form a band together after the Danzig 4.

Yeah, this is a really old pic from the 80's.

Eerie left on his own will in the 90's, wasn't that into D5 musically. John knew Glenn wanted a different guitarist by D4 but the two decided John should do the tour, Chuck was canned after a lot of Axl Rose like episodes. The part about Glenn making them sign a contract is true, and that is some good insinght by abigllama. After being in a band with Jerry Only, I'd be making contracts like that too. Jerry is a joke, say what you will about Glenn, the guy's voice is still good, his albums are still good, and his legacy of music in general is amazing. Jerry put out 5 albums, mostly under the name the Misfits, and has milked that cow since the 80's. Jerry's a douche.
