Take A Tour Of TOMMY LEE's Recording Studio - Oct. 30, 2009
Take a tour of MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer and METHODS OF MAYHEM mastermind Tommy Lee's recording studio called The Atrium by watching the video below (top clip). Located on the entire lower floor of Tommy's Calabasas, California residence, the studio was created specifically to provide an environment that inspires creativity and offer a vibey alternative to traditional, commercial recording studios.

The Atrium Studio is equipped to host all stages of a full-blown music production — writing through mixing. Although the facility is mainly for private use, Tommy often opens the doors to fellow friends and musicians to use for their own projects.

For more information, visit TheAtriumStudio.com.

METHODS OF MAYHEM's "Public Mayhem" album collaboration project was launched on October 5. Lee and METHODS producer Scott Humphrey posted isolated instrument tracks, or stems, from the upcoming album on the web site ThePublicRecord.com. Anyone with a great musical idea is invited to play a part in helping to achieve true "Public Mayhem", i.e. collaborate on the album. A wide range of formats are available to work with, including RiffWorks, WAV, Logic, GarageBand, Pro Tools and the Four Track 3.0 iPhone application. Participants will also have a chance to perform with METHODS OF MAYHEM at their record-release show.

"Public Mayhem" is set for release in early 2010.

A charitable donation will be made on behalf of all participants to the MusiCares Foundation. Established by The Recording Academy in 1989, MusiCares provides emergency health and human services and addiction recovery resources to music people in need. Whether artists or other industry professionals, MusiCares is there with a safety net of support for those who have given the gift of music to our lives.

Video and sound updates are being posted at ThePublicRecord.com featuring submission highlights and weekly giveaways for the best audio and video entries.

METHODS OF MAYHEM earlier in the year inked a worldwide deal with Loud & Proud Records, a Roadrunner Records imprint focusing on established artists.

Is he on coke or something in the opening part? Look at his movements and his tongue. He can't sit still. Cool dude though, and a beautiful studio.

he looks old. Of all the Motley Corpses he's been the only one that didn't look like a fat biker alcoholic fresh out of rehab. Now he looks like a tweaker just released from prison.

Badder than Robert Rodriguez's but Lee's got more money too. Doesn't sound like there's a hell of a lot going on though.

"What's up Nasa!?" "You Tweakers you know what i'm talkin' about." LOL. He is hilarious... Can you say Oxycotten and Meth? This guy is a mess. He's gettin' older your body can only withstand so much punishment, none the less still entertaining. Tommy Lee is the coolest drummer out there. Music is pretty boring but he is entertaining.
