Winnipeg Sun reports: A Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada man has been sentenced to four years in prison for a violent assault sparked by his fondness for
AC/DC.
James Ivison, 37, received double-credit of two years for time served, cutting his remaining sentence in half.
Court heard
Ivison was living in a Furby Street rooming house in October 2008 when he invited another resident to his room for a couple of beers. Sometime later the 22-year-old man began arguing with Ivison about the music he was playing, specifically
AC/DC.
"The victim then started to question the accused's sexual preference, angering the accused," Crown attorney
Dave Mann told court.
An ensuing fight spilled out into the hallway, with the victim grabbing a fry pan and
Ivison a kitchen knife.
