W.A.S.P. To Tour U.S. In February - Nov. 1, 2009
W.A.S.P. will hit the road in the U.S. in February 2010. Exact cities and dates will be announced soon.

W.A.S.P.'s new album, "Babylon", entered the U.K. "Rock Albums" chart at position No. 15. The CD was released on October 12 through Global Music (via Demolition Records).

"Babylon" is themed around biblical visions of "The Four Horseman of the Apocalypse," and is described in a press release as "a metal masterpiece that will make fans both old and new craving for more."

Audio samples of all the tracks that appear on "Babylon" are available at Amazon.co.uk.

"Crazy" was made available for download via various digital service providers from September 28.

Frontman Blackie Lawless commented on the track: "Although like it may sound like a man talking to a woman, 'Crazy' is about a performer talking to an audience; the dangers of idol worship and elevating musicians and politicians to a level that's dangerous!"
Fan-filmed video footage of W.A.S.P. performing the song "Wild Child" on October 28, 2009 at Byscenen in Haugesund, Norway can be viewed below.

I laugh when somebody will bash a guy like Blackie for for giving his opinion. I understand giving Mustaine hell, but why Blackie?

So he doesn't have the same thoughts/beliefs as you...do you really want everybody to have the same beliefs? Hell, it is the music that really matters.

I would hardly call that thier signature song,it served it's purpose back in the day by getting the band attention.back then nobody or hardly anyone used that word in song let alone named a song about it.now thanks to rap and any no talent wanna be tossing f bombs every other word what's the point of still doing it? you either have grown up along with his music amd like the band or your just a kid who thinks fuck sounds cool and you could care less about the man and what his band sounds like today. to be honest I never got into them untill I got headless children and have been a big fan ever since.even like the early stuff but at the time thought the act looked stupid and stayed away.mean man is a signature song for me or rock and roll to death.won't miss animal in the least.

No duh! plus they have other songs to play from their catalog of music. I heard "Animal" way too many times live from them over the long period of years.

ironmaiden316-
I suppose those of us who are bashing him should try to keep it civil, but It's not his opinion that people are so revved up about. It is that he has gone back on everything that W.A.S.P stood for. As another commenter put it, W.A.S.P was the middle finger aimed at a society that sought to get rid of them. Now it's as though he has joined them. But you are right, the music is all that matters.

That being said, Blackie i still love your music, censered lyrics and all. /mm/

2:10 to 2:15

Notice Blackie is NOT singing but his voice is still singing! He points to the bass player as if to say "hey, crowd, don't notice that this is all pre-recorded tapes we are playing to; it is really my bass player singing who sounds EXACTLY as i did 25 years ago!"

Blashley Simpson haha!

GREAT cd though, the last one.

Well it doesn't sound the same as Blackie to me and the volume level changes also. If there are backup tapes, this is not a case where you could say that for sure.

It's true, they do use vocal tapes. I saw this with my own eyes last year - I could see their front of house engineer punching in the tracks when it came time for Duda's backup vocals.

Blackie still sounds great though. Love the new album.

It's true. Just listen again and watch WHO is singing WHEN, very obvious. Not a big deal to me and the band is great live but I agree that WASP stood for something and now they don't.

I'm not saying it's not possible. I just think that you can not tell it one way or another from this video. For example, the supposed backup at 1:00 sounds nothing like Blackie. Why then would you use Blackie's voice at 2:10 as suggested?

Looks like they use vocal tapes. But in this case it's only the vocals. I play in bands now for almost 20 years. No big acts, but I did al lot of shows as a support act for the bigger ones. And I can tell you that a hell of a lot bands use tapes. More than you would ever expect. And especialy those gothic/orchestral/female-fronted-metalbands. Lots of those band don't have only the vocals on tape or only the orchestra. No,....the whole f*cking band. They just play along.

What's next? Is he going to explain how Wild Child is really about lost innocense and the yearning of the young to find their place in the world as they ponder the meaning of the universe? Because lord knows it's not about Blackie wanting to bone some chick. That would be ignoring "the message"!

WASP is great but I have to throw in my two cents. Showing the old video at the show while you play the song isn't that cool. Videos kind of ruined music. I bet most the fans are into it though.

Hopefully, if they play Buffalo or Rochester on this tour, it won't be the absolute joke of a show the last time they came through, when they literally did an 11 song 'best-of' set and that was it. What a ripoff.

So what exactly do you do for a living, because obviously from every post you put up here at Blabbermouth you have a tonne of money to burn in order to buy every CD imaginable and go to every show.

Unless you are some mentally challenged individual and then I apologize for taking a shot at you, otherwise shame on you if you aren't.

By the way if you went to WASP's Crimson Idol show in 2007 could you tell me how much the ticket price was and which venue did they play at?
