HULK HOGAN Wanted To Join METALLICA

56-year-old wrestling legend Hulk Hogan has told Chicago Trubune's " About Last Night" column that he played bass guitar in high school and that he tried to get back into music even after making it big in wrestling. "I was in England presenting an award with Jerry Hall, Mick Jagger's ex, and she told me THE [ ROLLING] STONES were looking for a bass player," Hogan said. "I sent her a ton of merchandise that she asked for and said 'Tell Mick I'm a great bass player.' I never heard a word back. "When METALLICA was looking for a bass player, I called and never heard a word back from them either. I would have quit wrestling in a heartbeat to be a bass player for METALLICA." Hulk Hogan was in Chicago last week to promote his autobiography, "My Life Outside The Ring". The book is Hogan's second autobiography and offers more details on his family and childhood.

I grinned when I red the title. Don't know about his bass playing ability's though.. Maybe they are very good and those bands should regret not hiring him.. But somehow I doubt that.

I remember seeing him play bass on some show way back in like 1984-85ish and it was pretty cool. He can really play. Can't find much of anything good on youtube with him playing though.

He just mentioned that for pub, which is why we have a huge photo of the book here. He's aware of the fact that he wouldn't be taken seriously.
I saw him on Stern recently and the guy's talking about the fact that he may be losing everything since he allowed his son to borrow his car and ruin his friends life with a racing accident.

Although him playing with Metallica would give them some more believability when they play 'Seek And Destroy". Because nothing says hilarious like a 3 foot Danish midget who ran away from Motley Crue, a feminine guitar player with a bad perm, a bass player who does a crab walk, and a singer/guitarist who carries his wife's purse and Armani bags.

i remember this rumour before newstead i think. they showed him jamming at the slammies (hogan i mean). from what i understand the man can play, plus he does have about as much hair as Lars does now a days. Hogan owns and so does Metallica

Hogan was supposedly in a decent band around the Tampa area when he was younger. He may be able to throw down on bass. It's a shame that he's probably made more money than any wrestler ever will but it's slowly trickling away.

Hulk is delusional if he actually thought the Stones or Metallica would think it would be a great idea to get Hulk Hogan to join their bands.
Hulk Hogan could've been the greatest bass player ever. People still would've laughed at that decision. Could you imagine seeing Hulk Hogan standing on stage with Metallica or the Stones??

Chris Jericho is one of those guys that has the look of a wrestler or rock star or actor, etc...
Jericho could do many different things.
Hulk Hogan just looks like a wrestler.
He would never look the part of a guy in a band. That's why his acting career bombed. The only parts Hogan could play that would be convincing were wrestlers or some bounty hunter type of guy.
