SLASH Featured On New RIHANNA Album

According to RollingStone.com, former GUNS N' ROSES and current VELVET REVOLVER axeman Slash has contributed guitar to the appropriately titled "Rockstar 101" song on the new Rihanna album "Rated R", due out November 23. Fans who pre-order "Rated R" — starting midnight November 3, at the iTunes store — will receive an instant download of the Ne-Yo-penned first single "Russian Roulette". The iTunes version of "Rated R" will also include director Anthony Mandler's exclusive cut of the two videos he directed, "Wait Your Turn" and "Russian Roulette". "Rated R" track listing: 01. Slash has lost touch completely. I hope he hooks up playing guitar for Chris Cornell next. Could you imagine the garbage those two would make. They've probably already run into each other at a No Doubt concert. Just like to point out that his collaboration with Michael Jackson was music history in the making, the subsequent collaborations were a joke. 'Give into me' is a killer tune and Slash at his best. Black eyed peas is a joke, MJ dripped in talent and I classify it an honor for Slash to have been able to play on a MJ record.
Someone said something about Slash crying out to Axl. I only wished that was true, but, with that being said, Axl, if you're reading this, take Slash back, restore his legacy. Teach him the ways of retaining 'rock God' status.

I haven't heard the Rihanna one but it can't be better because QOTSA's is one of the best albums ever

Slash is just playing smart for going commercial and feature on Pop artist albums. As in matter a fact he's doing you all and Rock fans in general a favor as this is the only way of getting Rock back to the masses: mixing it with Pop.
Just like they mix Hip Hop with Pop where it's known Hip Pop. A genre currently dying fast because of it incapacity of reaching mass appeal. The stuff is tuneless and monotonous so thus incapable of getting people to buy music. The industry needs to diversify more than ever, and that means getting Rock music back as a main commercial force.
I do not think Slash should have anything to do with BEP, nor do I think he should mix with Kanye West or Timbaland. The Hip Pop sound is going out of fashion. What he should do is sticking to his Rock roots and add it to Pop music. Fergie, Rihanna, Nicole Sherzinger etc. are all capable of delivering a Rock vocal performance.
So we get Pop Rock back. And so we get a newly found interest in Slash. And so we get a new interest in Classic Rock music. My point of view, IMO.

He refuses? Who the hell are you, his tour manager? Come on, give the guy a break. AXL Rose MOVED ON, he doesn't care about the old lineup and playing the same old songs again with the old band. As a matter of fact, AXL got new guys, new sound and experimented a little on Chi.-Dem with electronic, etc.
OK, the result is not great.
Slash, forget about it. Slash and CO will NOT reunite with GNR, and to be honest, it's OVER, it's all in the past. Indeed time to MOVE ON.
It's probably the same with Dave Jr Ellefson & Megadeth - Mustaine has a great new band. He will NOT take Jr back for the simple reason that he doesn't need him anymore. If you think Mustaine could get Jr back, you're f'ing dreaming.

Everybody has the right to comment what he thinks of, but:
Are you famous artists?
Are you who need to keep alive in this new World where people aren't buying records and aren't listening too much rock?
First of all, Slash is a guitar player who likes to play guitar, not only Hairy/Metal/Hard Rock guitar. As a truly guitarist he likes to play, it doesn't care who he wants to play with. To say that if he plays with Fergie or with Adam Lambert (I he someday do it?) is a shame is not true, he can play with anybody that he likes, I don't see why all this stupid comments. He likes to play with a lot of people, he always have been that way, that's nothing new, he's never been a mind closed rock player.
I find people talking bullsh*t about he's not a true rock player anymore a really immature position.
And what is that he only cares for commercial things? That's his job you morons, you can't make records only for a few people. Do you realize how many cost a record? Much more now with all this piracy? That is a huge inversion and you can't throw that money without knowing if that record is going to sale. EVERY ARTIST GO TO THE POPULAR MUSIC, the only not popular music is the classical music. Even Pavarotti had to go with a popular festival. Some of you think artists only play for love of music, but that isn't more far from the truth. You can't always ask for your interests they have theirs. F*ck off everybody who thinks he's doing wrong. Although I think some things aren't good ideas, like a version of a classic like Paradise City (what for???) or the remake of any other GNR material, that isn't a reason to satanize him.
If it weren't for his love for playing he had been dissapear with Axl, and maybe he could have died of an overdose many years ago.
So, let the guy alone, he's doing a great job and he's doing what he likes to do and what is making him to stay alive. He's also trying to create a Rock influence in this young artists and that is a really good thing to keep Rock music alive.

If this is such a brilliant move, why aren't other respected guitarists collaborating with teenybopper top 40 groups?? There's a reason Clapton, Perry, Beck, etc. are all so respected...and a large part of it has to do with the fact that they never whored themselves out. Collaborating with MJ=Great. The man was a great artist, easy to defend. Collaborating with fucking Fergie and Rihanna? Sorry, but that's just gay.
