Joining the San Francisco heavy metal giants for the performance were Ozzy Osbourne ( BLACK SABBATH), Ray Davies ( THE KINKS) and Lou Reed joined METALLICA. METALLICA's setlist was as follows: 01. METALLICA was inducted into the Hall of Fame this past April. The October 30 show also featured U2, BECK, BUDDY GUY, ARETHA FRANKLIN, ANNIE LENNOX, LENNY KRAVITZ and JERRY LEE LEWIS. Highlights of both nights' (October 29-30) Madison Square Garden concerts will be part of a four-hour broadcast this month on HBO.

I agree they are not what they were but I don't think they should retire. I think Metallica have a lot left in them and still make good music, fair enough its not ground breaking but most bands from their era don't produce ground breaking music, most bands now don't produce ground breaking music.
At the end of the day even if you don't like Ozzy or Metallica you Have to give them credit because metal would not be what it is today with out them.

right well while you all bitch etc about it all i have to say is, im assuming none of you were there ?
i fucking was, it was insane, sure i was surrounded by like 10 thousand fans most of them there for artehera franklin or u2 or w.e but none the less, ozzy sounded awsome the video does it no justice what so ever, iron man killed and lars fucking kicked ass that night, hell he even had one down right, i didnt hear him fuck up the bass line in the darkness riff once, and i was listening to make sure XD. stop bitching, it was a kick ass show
