Hmmmm... The set, stage and production just appears rather cheesy to me........ But, since I get bored as hell in Raleigh, N.C. these nights, I'd prolly fork out 20 to 25 bucks to scope out Ripper Owens in a club downtown........ I did see Owens jam 2 X with Priest in 1998.......... 'Twas kool with me.......... Peace.....

saw him twice with priest and once with iced earth. all very good shows. i'd pay to see him do this setlist. there's a lot of good songs listed. i would have loved to have seen him open for h&h, especially with the other guys he was playing with.

...I like Ripper, but I think it's funny he doesn't do any of his tunes he recorded with Priest....Anyone else find that weird?....there were some good tunes on Jugulator.....

Scottrak918 that's a very interesting observation indeed. In my opinion he never got over the tribute band syndrome.

First of all, he does do 2 songs from his time with Priest (Burn in Hell and One on One). Those two wouldn't be my choice (Bloodstained, Bullet Train, Feed on Me, Close to you for example are all better IMO) but whatever. why does he skip the two albums he did with Iced Earth, Framing Armegeddon is an awesome cd, 10,000 strong is one of the best tunes he ever sang on. Ok, I'm sure he would pick different songs from the 2 he did with IE, but at least they should be represented, even if he doesn't look fondly back on that period.

It's a shame he feels like covering Maiden Sabbath and Deep Purple (all great bands mind you) + doing Halford era Priest (I dont like his Painkiller especially, you seriously need a time machine back to 1992 to hear that song performed right) is more important than representing his own music.

That said, no one is perfect and I imagine if Tim was here he would say he is playing the songs the people in the audience want to hear not the old school fans who've followed his every move and that is fair too.

Hey Kevin i couldn't agree more with you.....except for the Painkiller comment.
Besides Tim , Geoff Tate and Michael Kiske Halford is also my favorite singer.
And with all the respect the Metal God deserves. Lets face it with out him we wouldn't have Tim , Geoff and other singers but to say that

"you seriously need a time machine back to 1992 to hear that song performed right"

is totally bogus .... i have yet to see a performance of Halford in his prime and specially now that comes anywhere near the STUDIO version.
In my opinion he has never done justice to that song live.
I actually like Rippers version live better than any of Halfords live attempts.
Yeah this performance posted here is a bit rough but you can always check out the Live in London performance Ripper did i think his Aggresive tone he puts in it sounds better.
But nothing can touch the Studio version Halford recorded.
