ShockHound.com recently conducted an interview with
SLIPKNOT/
STONE SOUR frontman
Corey Taylor. The singer talks about Halloween, the Houdini mansion and more. Watch the chat below.
Corey admitted in a new interview with
Attitude TV that he tried out as lead singer for
VELVET REVOLVER.
Taylor said, "I had a meeting with those guys, we did some demos together, and it just didn't work — for whatever reason." He added, "It was just really cool. It was one of those things where it's like I could have got to jam with legends, man, in my opinion. But, you know, it was cool, and I still know those guys, I still hang out with them, and I still have nothing but respect."
VELVET REVOLVER has been searching for a new lead singer for more than 18 months since dismissing
Scott Weiland in April 2008.
When
Slash was asked about
Taylor joining the group a few months ago at his official fan site, he reportedly said that "it looked like it for a minute, but (the band) had decided against it."
Taylor, who also sings in
STONE SOUR, was reportedly thinking of taking the frontman spot in veteran thrash act
ANTHRAX a couple of years ago.
SLIPKNOT just wrapped up a North American tour on Las Vegas on Halloween (Saturday, October 31) with a headlining gig at the
Trinity Of Terrors horror convention.
Taylor next plans to work on the third
STONE SOUR record, with sources telling
The Pulse of Radio that the band has been meeting with producers in Los Angeles.
