NIKKI SIXX Checks In - Nov. 6, 2009
MÖTLEY CRÜE/SIXX A.M. bassist Nikki Sixx has issued the following update:

"Home has recharged the batteries and seamless creativity is flowing again.....

"I always love it when a friend turns me onto a book, music or something I haven’t heard about or seen before. There's some cool stuff out and about and I thought you might like it too.

"I took Katherine [Nikki's girlfriend, tattoo artist and 'L.A. Ink' star Kat Von D] to see 'Nevermore - An Evening With Edgar Allen Poe' at the Steve Allen Theater in Hollywood. Jeffrey Combs delivers the arrow to the heart in this one-man play. This is a must-see. We loveeeeed it.

"As a teenager,I feel in love with Hieronymus Bosch. Recently his work has re-struck a chord in me and I am admittedly on the verge of being obsessed.

"If you're a fan of 1400s -1500s European painters, you owe it to yourself to Google his work.

"Audio books have taken over my life recently. In this fast-paced world we live in, multi tasking is taking over our lives. I do it sometimes, and hate that I get caught up in it. Trying to boil down to simple things like just writing a song, not answering emails while having lunch with a friend or talking on the phone during a long ride somewhere with your girlfriend seems like more work than it should. One way to block out the noise in your life is to listen to audio books on the ride (plains, trains and automobiles). Unless your with someone, of course...hahahah....

"Three audio books I would like to recommend are:

* 'Tuesday With Morrie' by Mitch Albom (an oldie but goodie)
* 'A New Earth' by Eckhart Tolle
* 'The Mirror Effect' by Dr Drew

"On a personal, front my photography is challenging me to go to new heights. I sometimes wonder if I'll ever get to the level I am striving for. It can be so frustrating and challenging, as I said before, maybe I should just give in a shoot 8 by 10.

"New SIXX: A.M. music is coming along nicely but no deadline or release dates to even consider. I will say it feels like the next logical step musically for the band. James [Michael, vocals] used the word 'important' in describing the new lyrics.

Everything is in full-on creative mode right now and that's when the magic really happens.

"That's really all for now.

"I hope you're all enjoying the change of season and look forward to some exciting news to share with you in the near future."

was a very cool artist, one of my favorites. sort of a cross between h.r. giger and salvador dali. he did some extremely weird shit, especially considering the time frame he was active.

Seems like you are even more stupid just thinking hes stupid because he listen's to audiobooks. whats that got to do with stupid?????
many people listen to audiobooks, but i prefer myself a real book.
hope the Sixx AM album will be good and am gonna check out these books on amazon. and who gives a shit what supposed to be cool at any given time???? that doesnt mean its better or anything, probably mean things are worse, at least if you check out whats been popular in the last 10-15 years or so, most of whats realy popular is plain crap.

I think it is just that you are too stupid to read the whole post. He said he likes to read audio books while traveling... A lot of people who read do this, it is rather hard to read a book while driving. You stupid idiot..

You don't read all that well, do you?

The beauty of Blabbermouth is there is at least one idiot per thread that I can direct my hate for ignorance and unintelligence at.

Lasse Bruce is this thread's winner loser.

People who listen to audiobooks aren't too 'stupid' to read, or my degree in English would be considered redundant, since I too listen to audiobooks.

Nikki's not the stupid one in this scenario. Who IS stupid is the person who reads the audiobooks reference and associates them with stupidity or a lack of reading skills - I assume.

/end smarmy rebuttal

Audiobooks are for when there is no music to listen to because the music.....SUCKS! Actually, I listen to them in the car and they are excellent. Rock on Nikki!

He does seem to talk about audio books way more than actual books, but if he's travelling then I guess it's more convinient to have a file on an mp4 player than to carry several physical books.
