U.S. Tour Rumor: SLAYER, MEGADETH, TESTAMENT And HIGH ON FIRE - Nov. 6, 2009
SLAYER, MEGADETH, TESTAMENT and HIGH ON FIRE are rumored to be teaming up for a U.S. tour starting in February 2010. It should be noted, however, that this information has not yet been corroborated by an official source.

SLAYER was forced to postpone its "Canadian Carnage" tour with MEGADETH, which was due to begin on November 8. In addition, the band has cancelled its appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!", which had been set for this Wednesday, November 4. More information will be released shortly regarding the rescheduling of the Canadian dates, as well as the "Kimmel" appearance.

SLAYER's Tom Araya is currently under the care of a specialist for a back injury, thought to be related to his on-stage activity, and the physician has ordered an immediate surgical procedure, which was to take place in Texas on Tuesday morning (November 3).

MEGADETH will embark on a U.S. tour with MACHINE HEAD and SUICIDE SILENCE starting on November 14 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

this would be fucking awesome. I hope so. Wonder is this will be an arena tour, there would be enough people to fill up an arena. U know slayer usually plays smaller venues, but they usually sell out (at least around here) But when they hedlined Unholy Alliance, the arena in San Jose had a full floor and first level of sets, and there were even people in the upper level. And everyone at Mayhem Fest was there for Slayer. So to have Megadeth and Testament as well.
well nothing is official yet..........

Way to go Dave. We all know that you come here and read these boards so you read the comments about well if metallica megadeth an slayer tour it should be testament too. So you throw together a super tour with Testament and some other band. (yeah being a metal head maybe I should know who they are, but I dont) you make it look like oh Metallica didnt want to. They said it would be fun. Why don't you grow a fucking pair and extend an invitation to them just like they extended one to you to have some involvment in the hall of fame? Its not their fault the hall of fame rules state that you have to actually have been on the recording.
Everyone wants to see this tour it seems except you. Why don't you set aside that ego of yours for once? Hell who knows you mught end up liking those guy again. Ultimatley the fans would be benefiting the most to have that happen. I dont care if you a metallica basher, slayer basher, or a megadeth hater you would still love to see all of those names on one bill.

Anyway, those are my thoughts for what little they are worth. Let the bashing begin.

Another tour rumor. Fuck! this would be great to see, Evile should get on the ball and start auditioning bassists so they can get on the road and grieve. Replace High on fire with them or Warbringer and this bill would be top notch. ( not that is isnt already)

COMMENT | That's a great lineup.

I would be very happy to have the opportunity to see a show like that. As pointed out above, Megadeth are bypassing many major markets on their upcoming tour, which helps to give this rumour even more credibility. And, yes, this tour will be in arenas just like the Canadian shows. It will probably do as well as Slayer's 2006 Unholy Alliance tour. Maybe slightly better actually.

Oh, and all the people saying High On Fire should be replaced can go fuck themselves. First of all, they're a great band who absolutely kill everything in their path live. Second, at least it's a legitimate metal act than some core shit like Suicide Silence or Job For A Cowboy. And finally, HOF are an up and coming band that needs all the major exposure they can get to develop a fan base. A tour is like this is a great opportunity and will help them a lot. Metallica took out Gojira recently and they will benefit hugely from this. Somebody has to take over once the big names in metal from the 1970s and 1980s eventually call it a day.

Yes, Exodus would be nice but if you want to help some new bands out by giving them exposure pick Lazarus AD or Warbringer, Both bring back that old school sound quite nicely.
On another note I saw an old interview on youtube posted thru this site that Scott Ian, Dave Mustaine, Kerry King from the original Clash Of The Titans tour bashed on Testament for selling out and trying to sound like Dave's former band. Now Testament might be opening for 2 of those bands...Hmm, just had to mention that.

High on Fire were on Dave's Gigan tour and Slayer surely recommended Testament to be on the bill. This would be a good tour.

Another good package would be:

Metallica (feat. all living bass players on their respective tracks)
Exodus (feat. Kirk Hammet on a few songs)
Forbidden

HIgh On Fire could headline their own fucking tour. You idiots who are saying HOF sucks are just not in the know. Get with the times dudes. HOF are one of metals best acts right now.

Metallica think they should be the headliners every night, unlike Clash of the Titans(it was camaraderie first, ego/money second.) and everyone got to headline shows.

I said HOF could headline their own tour. I didn't mean they should headline THIS tour. Moron. In fact HOF did headline a small American tour for Death is This Communion and they kicked ass. I also mentioned that I am a fan of Exodus. Exodus or Anthrax may be a better fit if you are going by the age and decade of the bands involved. As I remember both Megadeth and Slayer are fans of HOF and probably a big reason why their name is being mentioned in the tour rumor. HOF is one of the best three piece metal acts around. They absolutely crush the ear drums of the listener much like Motorhead. If their not your cup of tea that's fine but no one can say they suck. As far as a current metal outfit goes that's simply untrue.
