MEGADETH Drummer Says There Is 'No Truth' To Rumor Band Will Tour U.S. With SLAYER, TESTAMENT - Nov. 6, 2009
MEGADETH drummer Shawn Drover has refuted rumors that the band will embark on a U.S. tour in February with SLAYER, TESTAMENT and HIGH ON FIRE. Writing on MEGADETH's official forum, Drover, states, "Rumors are just that. [There is] no truth to this [rumor] at all."

SLAYER was forced to postpone its "Canadian Carnage" tour with MEGADETH, which was due to begin on November 8. In addition, the band has cancelled its appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!", which had been set for this Wednesday, November 4.

SLAYER's Tom Araya is currently under the care of a specialist for a back injury, thought to be related to his on-stage activity, and the physician has ordered an immediate surgical procedure, which was to take place in Texas on Tuesday morning (November 3).

MEGADETH will embark on a U.S. tour with MACHINE HEAD and SUICIDE SILENCE starting on November 14 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

I would think Roadrunner would know whether or not these bands will be on the same ticket? So what's with the Cindy Adam-ish rumor mill?

COMMENT | Of course not...

...why give the people what they want?

Instead, Slayer will tour with some lame band and Jesus Dave will take some band out that no one's ever heard of.
Meanwhile, Testament gets shit-upon again and has to do a club tour (totally undeserving for them).

The drummer is speaking for Megadeth now? He better watch his step, who does he think he is?

Im so sick of hearing about these tour rumors. WHO GIVES A RATS ASS IF SLAYER AND MEGADETH TOUR TOGETHER!!!!! Drop it and move on. They will do just fine on their own. Better yet dont spend your hard earned money on either one of them. Save it for a REAL show.

Him denying it don't mean shit. This wouldn't be the first time he denied a rumor that did indeed turn out to be true.

I love how they don't even post his real name in the title and just call him a Megadeth drummer XD

lundtheconqueror- Hate to break this to you, but, even though this would be much bigger than a Testament tour on their own, it isn't going to be in big arenas.
And it's funny that I heard from an actual friend who's on one of these bands' crews that this is in the works.

Care to name your friend's name, his job in the road crew, and the band he works for?

Moreover, if Slayer, Megadeth, and Testament did decide to tour together it would be outstanding.

these people are idiots. If that is a rumor, let it keep going. That would be some awesome word of mouth publicity. Getting people checking out bands they may have left for dead. Idiots.

As much as I dont like it - I can understand all these bands shitting on Testament.

Testament would kill them on stage each and every single fucking night. Period.

You can't always believe Shawn Drover. He said that the Megadeth & Slayer Canada tour was a false rumor and then guess what it turned out to be true!

Why High on Fire though, why not Exodus or Overkill? Nevermind, I don't want to hear a Blabbermouth answer to that.

Painkiller- Yeah, I'm totally going to put my friend's job at risk so some dude sitting at home in his sweat pants who's pumped about the "return of real metal" can get the scoop.
AlucardsQuest- High On Fire keep the tour from being a total retro package. Throw one of those other bands on, and it's the speed metal version of Poison, Cinderella, Dokken and Ratt, coming to a state fair near you.

they should throw in kreator instead of high on fire who would blow all 3 away.

also if they wanted new blood they should chuck in some new thrash like evile, not some sludge metal which doesnt really fit with the rest of the bill (even thought theyre awesome)

I wouldn't call High on Fire "sludge metal," at all. They do have some sludgy stuff but they've got just as much speed metal in there.

Dude, you're right... honestly, who gives a frog's fat ass about RUMORS of tours?

I mean, how many times have you sent a text to your BFF with, "YES! [band name] are playing at the Enormodome, Feb 2nd!!"'

Not, "YES! There's a rumor that the big four MAY be doing a tour somewhere between Summer 2010 and the Apocalypse..."
